2026 has just started and we have already seen a lot of new car launches in the Indian market. Skoda Kushaq was the latest SUV to get launched in the market and this mid-size SUV has come with many updates when compared to the previous version. It also missed out on a few features too. Here we have a list of big hits and misses with the updated or facelifted Skoda Kushaq SUV.

One of the major updates that Kushaq got was the sunroof. Electric sunroof is available in the Kushaq from the base trim and as you go up to the higher variants, the SUV offers a panoramic sunroof which is appreciated by many buyers in India.
The powerful 1.5 litre TSI variant of the Skoda Kushaq now comes with disc brakes at the rear. This is again a feature that most people buying the car would appreciate. The braking performance of the Skoda Kushaq will also be improved with this addition.

The major update in the facelifted Skoda Kushaq is the new automatic transmission. The 1.0 TSI replaced the 6-speed automatic transmission with a new 8-speed unit from AISIN. This would result in better efficiency without compromising on the performance part. Kushaq is the first car in the segment to get this feature and more brands are likely to offer the same in the affordable segment soon.

Another segment-first feature that Kushaq comes with is the rear seat massager. We have seen brands offer seat ventilation for all four seats. However in this case, Skoda is offering ventilation for the front seats and the massager function for the rear seat which many would appreciate.

The alloy wheel design on the Skoda Kushaq has changed. One interesting thing about the Kushaq is that even the base variants of the Kushaq will be offered with alloy wheels. This way, you as a customer won’t have to actually upgrade your wheels to give your car a higher variant look.

The competition in this segment has become extremely tight and one of the common features that most cars in this segment offer is Level 2 ADAS. Skoda Kushaq misses out on this feature for some reason. They probably did this to be able to keep the price of the car under check.
While the Skoda Kushaq offers several premium features, it misses out on a convenience feature which is now being offered in most modern cars. It misses out on a 360 degree camera which turns out to be a feature of great help especially when you are living in a city with narrow roads or tight parking spots.

The center console on the Skoda Kushaq is the same as the previous version. Skoda has started offering physical buttons for AC controls in many other models but, Kushaq continues to get the touch-sensitive units. Physical buttons are easier to operate while driving and are also less distracting. We hope that Skoda rectifies this issue in the future.
