Car culture in India has evolved over the years - from vintage Ambassadors and Premier Padminis to Rolls-Royces on our roads. Many celebrities and wealthy businessmen have expensive and exotic cars as part of their lifestyle. Here we have one such video of a businessman who bought a Rolls-Royce Cullinan last year on his birthday. This year, he decided to pick up a G-Wagen.
The video has been shared by Nexus Ninad on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger goes to the house of the businessman, and the G-Wagen is already parked in the porch of the house. Behind it is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which the family bought a year ago. The vlogger gives a quick tour of his other cars in the video.
Bharat C. Thakur owns a quarry business and is also involved in the warehouse and logistics business in Maharashtra. Other than the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the family owns cars like the Range Rover, Land Rover Defender, Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, Audi, and so on.
Once the family members arrive, they start the birthday celebration. Although the G-Wagen had already been delivered to them, they had not driven the SUV as the religious rituals were not yet done.
After the rituals were completed, we see the members of the family gathered around the vehicle. Once the car was blessed and welcomed into the family, they drove it out. The G-Wagen seen here in the video is the current-generation G63 AMG. This is probably the last time one can actually buy a G-Wagen in ICE form.
Just like most brands, Mercedes-Benz also has electric vehicles in its lineup, and the G-Wagen will soon be among them. The G63 AMG is an SUV with a huge fan following around the globe. It is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo petrol engine that generates 576 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission, and the power is sent to all four wheels. The price for a brand-new G-Wagen is easily over Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom).
After the celebration, the family takes the new G-Wagen along with other SUVs from the garage out for a drive. The convoy definitely turned heads on the road. After returning from the drive, the businessman celebrated his 60th birthday with his family and friends.
The video also gives us a quick tour of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The owner had opted for a beige exterior shade along with orange interiors. Usually, we see people go for standard rear seats, but the owner chose lounge seats, which come with a large center armrest, electrically reclining seats, a massager, and even a built-in fridge.
The SUV also gets a glass partition behind the rear seats for better cabin insulation. In Rolls-Royce cars, we usually see people go for the starlight roof liner. However, in this case, the owner went with a sunroof - a rather rare sight.
