If you follow stand-up comedy, you would know how big a brand Samay Raina is. Known for his sharp, witty remarks and dark humour, Samay has a massive following on various social media platforms. To give you more perspective, his Instagram handle has over 7.2 Million followers at the time of writing, his YouTube channel has over 7.4 million subscribers, and even the X (previously Twitter) handle has over 4.5 lakh followers! On Dhanteras this year, this successful comedian added a brand-new luxury van to his garage- a Toyota Vellfire, finished in Black. It appears to be a gift for his parents. Raina shared photos of taking delivery of the vehicle as stories on his official Instagram handle.

The Vellfire is available in two variants- the Hi Grade and the VIP Executive Lounge. The former has an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.19 Crores, while the latter comes at Rs 1.29 Crores, ex-showroom.
One of the images shared in Samay’s stories shows the vehicle to have a dark (Black) cabin colour scheme. This makes us believe that it is the Hi-Grade variant. The VIP Executive Lounge, in fact, comes with dark Beige upholstery. The luxury MPV comes in three exterior colours- Black, Precious Metal, and White. The comedian has opted for the first.
Some reports also mention this MPV to be a gift to his parents. Ironically, a massive controversy had erupted earlier this year after podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made a vulgar "would you rather" joke involving parents, on Samay’s show- India's Got Latent.

Vellfire is now the most expensive MPV sold in India. It is also a very popular choice among A-list celebrities and public figures. In the recent past, we saw many actors and businessmen adding it to their garages. Actors like Aamir Khan, Rishabh Shetty, Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani already have this model in their respective garages.
Toyota launched it in India in August 2023. It came with several notable changes (read ‘upgrades’) over its predecessor. While the overall design remains similar, details on places like the grille are new. The Vellfire now gets a new six-slat grille that looks much more premium than before, flanked by split headlamps. These get LED DRLs as well. A Chrome strip on the front bumper adds more visual appeal.

Slight design reworks were done to the side profile as well. The MPV now comes with a ‘single, large glasshouse’ and blacked-out pillars. The rear gets V-shaped taillamp enclosures and tasteful Chrome accents.
The new Vellfire’s cabin excels in offering comfort and keeping the occupants pampered. Of course, it is the VIP Executive Lounge that does this best. The vehicle comes equipped with features like a large 14-inch infotainment touchscreen, plush seats, an overhead console for passengers, multiple AC vents, pull-down sunshades, and more.

The VIP Executive Lounge comes with two captain seats on the second row. These get retractable tables, electric adjustment, ottomans, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. A rear entertainment system, power sunshade, and dual sunroofs can also be had. In addition to these, the MPV comes with the likes of a head-up display, wireless charger, 60+ connected features, Toyota Safety Sense ADAS, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat.
The Vellfire is underpinned by the carmaker’s modular TNGA-K platform. Spanning almost 5 meters in length and with a wheelbase of 3 meters, it is quite big and roomy on the inside. Powering it is a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine which produces 193hp and 240 Nm. It comes mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission. This setup is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of around 19.28kpl.

The safety suite on this vehicle consists of six airbags, stability control, park assist, hill assist control and more. The Toyota Sense comes with features like a pre-collision safety system, lane trace assist, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitor.
