During the festive season every year, we come across videos and reports of startups and other established firms looking for unique ways to thank their employees for their efforts, dedication, and loyalty. Hi-Lite Group from Kerala is actually very popular not just in the state but abroad as well. They are a premier diversified conglomerate specializing in real estate, construction, retail, and hospitality. Recently, Hi-Lite Group organized an event where they gifted not one or two but 47 brand-new cars to their loyal employees, including a Land Rover Defender.
The video has been shared by Apu Joseph Kottarathil on his Instagram page. In this video, the vlogger talks about the cars that are parked outside the mall, waiting to be gifted to the employees. Hi-Lite Group recently completed 30 years, and in this three-decade journey, they felt that the employees played a very important part.
In fact, Hi-Lite mentions them as family rather than mere staff. Every individual worked their best for the group’s growth. It is because of this that the company decided to honor them by gifting expensive cars. In the video, we see a long row of cars covered with satin cloth, parked outside the venue where the celebration was happening.
The company chairman, P. Sulaiman, and CEO, Ajil Muhammed, can be seen in the video. They walk outside the building and start handing over the cars to the deserving employees. Usually, at such events, we see companies gifting cars from one particular brand, mostly mass-market cars. In this case, things are slightly different.
The Hi-Lite Group is gifting cars like the Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Sport, and other luxury cars, along with vehicles from multiple brands. The Defender seen here in the video is finished in Woolstone Green Metallic, and it is the first car in Kerala to get this shade. We see cars from brands like Range Rover, Land Rover, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Tata, Mahindra, and so on.
The happiness on the faces of the employees is very evident in the video, as this is not something that you get to see every day. As part of the 30-year celebration, Hi-Lite Group also unveiled its future plans for the next five years. They aim to develop 50 million sq. ft. of projects in the state by 2030. If they achieve this goal, they might celebrate the occasion in an even grander manner than seen in this video.
In total, the group has easily spent over ₹10 crore just on buying these cars for the employees as gifts. This gesture shows how much the management values its employees and their efforts. It would actually help boost staff morale and encourage them to work harder to make things even better than they already are.
This is not the first time Hi-Lite Group’s name has made it to the headlines. In 2022, Hi-Lite Group organized a similar event where they gifted 28 cars to their employees. That event was also conducted to appreciate the efforts made by the employees toward the company’s growth. In that earlier event, they gave cars from brands like BMW, Audi, Volvo, Tata, and others.
Not just that, P. Sulaiman, who is the chairman of Hi-Lite Group, even gifted a brand-new Porsche 911 Carrera S sports car to his daughter, who took charge as the director of Hi-Lite Group in 2024.
