The all-new Tata Sierra officially went on sale in India in late November. Deliveries began in January this year. A video has now surfaced online showing the country’s first ‘modified Tata Sierra’. It has been shared on the official Instagram handle of KB Tyres, a tyre shop in Punjab.
The Sierra seen in this video is finished in the Pure Grey dual-tone colour scheme. The SUV’s colour palette consists of six options- Andaman Adventure (the signature Yellow), Prestige White, Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds and Munnar Mist.
The owner, in this case, wanted his Sierra to look unique. Soon after taking the delivery, he took the Sierra to the tyre shop for a complete wheel replacement. The stock SUV can be had with three wheel sizes- 19-inchers on the top-spec, 18-inchers on the mid-spec and 17-inchers on the base variant.

The vehicle in this case seems to be a higher variant. The owner wanted them to be even bigger and opted for massive 20-inch wheels. These five-spoke star-shaped wheels almost fill the wheel wells. The exact tyre size remains unclear.
The suspension seems to have been raised slightly to accommodate the massive wheels. Even the stock Sierra has an unladen ground clearance of 205mm. Here, it is likely to be notably higher. The overall stance seems likeable.

Wheel swap isn’t the only modification on this Sierra. Tata Motors offers an impressive array of add-ons and accessories on the Sierra. Two packages are available- ROQ and ROQ+. The former adds several cosmetic panels and elements to various parts, giving the design a different character. ROQ+ adds a functional roof rack, side ladder and more.
The vehicle in this case has the ROQ package on. We can see appliques on the front grille, tailgate, bonnet, side, wheel arches, and even front fenders. The bumpers at both ends are different, too. The ROQ package itself costs Rs 41,000.

Resurrecting a legendary automobile nameplate isn’t easy. The Sierra, however, did justice to the original. It is available in seven broad trims- Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. The prices of these fall in the Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.29 lakh bracket, both ex-showroom.
The new Sierra is a good-looking SUV. It has a notably unique design. Key highlights include a high-set bonnet, clean panels, large ‘carved-out’ rear window glasses, all-LED lighting, flush door handles and window seals, and a clamshell-styled tailgate.

Inside, the new Sierra looks modern and futuristic. It uses pleasant, neutral colours and premium trims. The feature list includes the likes of a panoramic sunroof, a large, triple-screen setup (two 12.3-inch touchscreens and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster) on higher variants, a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, connected car features, 360-degree camera, HUD (Head Up Display), powered tailgate, an electronic parking brake and more.

Underpinning the Sierra is the new ARGOS platform. It has a stronger focus on improving ride quality and dynamics. The SUV has a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) configuration. Three engine options are available- a new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbocharged direct injection petrol, and 1.5L diesel (with passive SCR).
These produce 106 hp and 145 Nm, 160 hp and 255 Nm and 118 hp and 260 Nm ((280 Nm on automatics) respectively. Both manual and automatic transmissions are on offer on both naturally aspirated petrol and turbo-diesel engines. The turbocharged petrol, however, comes only with a torque converter automatic unit.
