A lot of influencers in India love modifying their cars and sharing their journeys online. Due to this, they gain a lot of following as well. However, they tend to forget that modifying a vehicle in India is illegal, and if caught, their vehicle can get seized as well. Recently, a video has been shared online in which one such influencer learned this lesson the hard way. In this video, the modified BMW 5-Series of this particular influencer was seen getting seized by the Goa Police.
The video showing the seizure of an influencer's modified BMW has been shared on YouTube by In Goa 24X7 on their channel. In this short video, we can note that a purple-colored BMW 5-Series luxury sedan with an aftermarket M5 body kit was stopped by the authorities. As per the reports, this vehicle was stopped during a surprise nakabandi at Siolim.
This particular area comes under the Anjuna Police Station, and PSI Goltekar and his team were seen checking this vehicle. In the video, we can note that after the police stopped this modified luxury sedan, the owner, who is an influencer, came out and was having a conversation with the officers.

During the same, the boot of this vehicle was opened, and other officers started taking pictures and videos. In the video, we can also note a police officer noting down the registration number of this vehicle. It has been mentioned that the vehicle was then seized by the authorities as it was equipped with a loud aftermarket exhaust and fully blacked-out window tints.
The name of the influencer who owns this modified BMW 5-Series is Uvais Sutar, and he has a YouTube channel with 11,000+ subscribers. On his YouTube channel and his Instagram profile, he regularly shares videos and images of himself driving around in modified vehicles.

As we have mentioned numerous times before, in India, any type of modification that has not been authorized by the Road Transport Department is illegal, and it is a direct violation of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. These modifications include changing the exterior color with wraps, adding blacked-out films and aftermarket exhausts, alloy wheels, and headlights.
In most cases, the vehicles get seized by the authorities if they are found with such aftermarket parts. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir Police also performed a crackdown on aftermarket vehicles in the state and managed to seize a number of modified cars.
Upon further digging around in this influencer’s social media platforms, a video has caught our attention. In this short clip, the influencer was seen driving a Hyundai Verna at a speed of 180 kmph (most likely a tuned car). What happens next is that a truck driving in the middle lane comes in front of this car.
Now, instead of slowing down after spotting the truck, this particular influencer made a bold left-side overtake at a speed of 150 kmph. A clip showing this exact moment from outside has also been added in the video. Thankfully, the overtake was successful; otherwise, it might have ended in a fatal accident.
