In early October, a hit-and-run case from Bengaluru had made headlines for having alleged connections with an actress. The police have now confirmed that Divya Suresh, an actress and a Big Boss Kannada Season 8 contestant, was driving the car when it hit a two-wheeler carrying three. CCTV footage from nearby helped the cops in their investigation.
This incident happened near the Nithya hotel in Byatarayanapura in the early hours of October 4th. The mishap happened on a T- T-junction. A Kia Sonet is seen entering the main road from the side road. At the same time, a two-wheeler is seen coming from the direction that it is about to turn to. It was around 1:30 am, and there was no one else on the road. You can, however, see some vehicles parked on the streets.

The two-wheeler, in this case, is seen riding on the right side of the road when it was hit by the car. Going by the CCTV visuals, the Kia seems to have entered the road a bit too fast. Since the bike was coming through the right side of the road, the actress who was driving the Sonet, was helpless when she confronted it. There was nothing that either of them could do to prevent the crash.

The visuals show both vehicles to have panic-braked, and the two-wheeler rider even tried to steer away. This helped in minimising the actual impact. The collision made the rider lose control. The two-wheeler crashed into (what looks like) a pole nearby, before coming to a complete halt.
All three occupants fell down, and the video also shows the car fleeing the scene right after this! It just speeds away even when the guy shouts and asks it to stop. This was the biggest mistake from the actress.

The two-wheeler riding through the wrong side of the road caused this crash. If it was riding safely through the left, the Sonet would drive past safely, even at the speed with which it entered the road. But, why was the two-wheeler on the right side of the road?
Watch the CCTV video carefully and you’ll find two dogs running towards the two-wheeler as it appears on the screen. It was to evade these animals that the rider took to the right side, eventually landing in this unfortunate crash. Thus, stray dogs were the real reasons for this mishap!
The three people on the two-wheeler have been identified as Kiran G, Anusha and Anitha. Anitha broke her leg in the crash and reportedly had to undergo a surgery at the BGS Hospital. The other two had minor injuries. Kiran filed a police complaint on October 7th, saying that their motorcycle was knocked down by a speeding black car driven by an “unidentified” woman. The investigation on this has now revealed the actress’ connection.
A police investigation based on the CCTV footage from the place revealed that the car belonged to Divya Suresh. For the uninitiated, she was a former participant in the 2021 Big Boss Kannada 8, and has also been part of many Kannada movies and series. Divya is also a former professional kabaddi player. She is quite big on Instagram and has over 2.4 lakh followers at the time of writing.

After her name surfaced, the actress shared a story on Instagram, explaining her part, backing it with the CCTV footage and screenshots of some comments that talked about the ‘biker’s fault’. Along with it, she wrote in Kannada “Thanks to the noble souls who commented. Truth alone triumphs." This, in a way, confirmed that she was behind the wheel when the crash happened.
Reports say that a case has been registered under Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 125(a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, against the actress.
Talking to ANI, DCP traffic Anoop A Shetty said: “The investigation found the car driver to be Divya. Further investigation is underway. Both the parties failed to file a complaint the very next day; the complaint was lodged after three days. No idea of what happened between them, once we investigated, we found the car owner to be Divya S. We have seized the car."
