Mahindra Automotive launched the XEV 9E coupe electric SUV back in February of this year, and at the same time, it started taking reservations. Since then, a number of people have taken delivery of this electric SUV and have driven it thoroughly. Recently, an owner of a Mahindra XEV 9E, which has covered over 20,000 km (probably the highest in India), shared his long-term ownership thoughts on this SUV.
The long-term detailed review of the Mahindra XEV 9E electric SUV has been shared on YouTube by Autovahan on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that he has come to interview the owner, who has driven his Mahindra XEV 9E over 20,000 km in just 8 months. He asks him about his buying decision and all the other details about this SUV.

After introducing the owner of this particular Mahindra XEV 9E, the vlogger asks him about his decision to buy the XEV 9E. To this, he replies that he already owned a Mahindra XUV500 diesel, and after driving it over 95,000 km in five years, he wanted to change his car. Due to this, he first looked at the Mahindra XUV700 AX7L variant.
However, as his monthly driving exceeds 2,500 km, it did not make sense for him to buy a diesel vehicle, which could cost him a lot more in fuel expenses. As a result, he enquired about the Tata Curvv.ev and the Nexon.ev. But since nobody from Tata responded, he went with the Mahindra XEV 9E.
The owner also mentions that before buying the XEV 9E, he went on a road trip to Kutch, Gujarat, in his XUV500 and took note of the charging station network. When he found that there was adequate infrastructure, he booked the XEV 9E on the day of the commencement of bookings, on 14th February this year.

When the vlogger asked him about the on-road price of this electric coupe SUV, the owner highlighted that he paid around Rs 32 lakh for it and was one of the first owners of the XEV 9E in India. Following this, the vlogger then asked about the things he likes about it. To this, the owner answered that he likes the way this vehicle looks.
He highlighted that the Mahindra BE 6 looks better, but it is not very practical as it lacks boot capacity and is not ergonomic. Due to this, he bought the XEV 9E. The owner also mentions that at the time, the company announced that there would be optional 20-inch alloy wheels on offer as well. However, despite requesting them, the owner has not received them as of yet.
While on the outside, the owner then starts talking about the tyres of the XEV 9E. He mentions that the vehicle is offered with much softer compound tyres to reduce cabin noise. He stated that they last only 45,000 km, whereas the tyres on his XUV500 lasted 70,000 km.

The owner and vlogger then take a seat inside and talk about the features loved by the owner. In the video, the owner mentions that he loves the cabin comfort of this SUV, and the triple screen is a unique feature. He also mentions that the feature he initially thought would be a gimmick is the Mahindra VisionX. He stated that it is one of the most useful features of this SUV.
In the video, the presenter also asks the owner about the real-world range of the XEV 9E, to which he replies that if the vehicle is driven aggressively, the range drops to around 310 km per charge. However, if driven sensibly around 90–110 kmph without rapid accelerations, the range exceeds 450 km, and sometimes it even reaches 500–510 km. Overall, the owner mentions that he loves this SUV.
