Mahindra XEV 9s, launched in November 2024, is currently a hot-selling model in India. In the past few months, we have seen many owners customising the XEV 9e in various ways. Now, an owner has given the XEV's interior a complete cosmetic makeover. The interior of this vehicle now gets a sportier Red and Black dual-tone finish, the photos and videos of which have surfaced online.
This customisation job was carried out by Galaxy Premium Car Accessories, a shop in Kochi, Kerala. Mahindra offers a total of seven exterior colour options on the XEV 9e- Everest White, Ruby Velvet, Stealth Black, Desert Myst, Nebula Blue, Deep Forest, and Tango Red. The donor car here is finished in Black. In its stock form, the XEV’s cabin has a multi-tone colour scheme comprising a shade of Black, one of Green, and Off-White. Additional highlights and premium details can also be found in various places.
The owner, in this case, gave the interior colour palette a complete rejig! The vehicle now has almost all of its in-cabin elements finished in either Black or a shade of Red. The stock seats seem to have been replaced with aftermarket ones with brand-new upholstery. Even the roof-liners are Black now.

Components/ areas that had the pale Green finish on the stock car are now finished in Red. The lower portion of the steering wheel, door inserts, dashboard inserts, shifter knob, and front central armrest are all examples.
The XEV’s stock front seats feature a unique design and bolstering. They are quite comfortable to be on. On this car, however, the owner seems to have replaced these with more conventionally styled ones. It is also likely that he got these redesigned and re-bolstered into the new shape. All seats now feature stylish Red leatherette upholstery with premium diamond-like patterns.

The video doesn’t clearly show whether the electric sun blind for the panoramic glass roof has also been changed to the dark theme. Considering the amount of effort that has gone into the cabin upgrade of this car, it is very likely to have been customised as well.

The overall quality of this work seems great. However, not everyone would approve of this colour change! With the new bright colours in place, the cabin now looks a lot different. The transition to Black seems to have taken away some sense of space from the cabin, but not to an extent that would make you complain.
Red seats are definitely shouty. Most people will like the stitching and patterns as well. But, not everyone would find them more attractive or better-looking than the stock ones! The subtle, futuristic design of the stock ones has a charm of its own!
The customised seats, however, have one key strength- they won’t get dirty as quickly as the stock ones. Most XEV 9e owners would agree that the Off-White seats get soiled easily, especially in India’s hot, humid climate.

The XEV 9e has been on sale for a year now, and Mahindra is already preparing to launch its next ‘Electric Origin’ SUV here. Called the XEV 9S, this will be a three-row electric SUV based on the same INGLO platform found on the BE6 and XEV 9e. It is expected to use the same battery packs as these two EVs- 59kWh and 79 kWh. The XEV 9S will be out on November 26th, at the ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru.
