Mahindra is one of the leading SUV manufacturers in India. They have models like the XUV700 and Scorpio N that are not only popular choices among buyers in India but also abroad. Mahindra does not sell its vehicles only in India; countries like Australia and South Africa are also important markets for the brand. In Australia, legendary cricketer Matthew Hayden is the brand ambassador for Mahindra, and we often see him posting videos about Mahindra vehicles on social media platforms. We now have another video where Matthew Hayden is seen driving the Scorpio N Z8L+ variant with updated features.
The video has been shared by Mahindra Australia on their YouTube channel. Matthew already owns a Mahindra Scorpio N, and we have featured it on our website earlier. However, the one seen here is different. This is the updated Z8L+ variant, which comes with more features than the regular Scorpio N.
He begins by talking directly about the features, as nothing has changed in the SUV in terms of looks. He starts by highlighting the front-seat ventilation and mentions how this feature is a lifesaver during Australian summers. He also points out that the Scorpio N now comes with an electric parking brake and an auto-dimming IRVM. He further talks about Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity in the touchscreen infotainment system.
The centre console gets a gloss-black panel with a repositioned 4WD knob, along with the EPB and auto-hold switches placed below it.

In terms of space, Hayden found the Scorpio N’s second-row seats to be comfortable, with ample headroom and legroom for a person of his height. He did not sit in the third row but mentioned that it is suitable for children or for luggage when not occupied.
After discussing the cabin and features, Matthew Hayden takes the Scorpio N for a drive and talks about additional highlights. The top-end Z8L+ variant of the Scorpio N comes with Level 2 ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, speed limit alert, and more. These features were not available in the lower variants of the Scorpio N, and he feels they make driving easier and less stressful.
The SUV continues to be offered with the same petrol and diesel engine options as in India. However, the version driven by Matthew Hayden is the 4x4 diesel automatic variant, which means the SUV is capable both on-road and off-road.
Mahindra is currently working on a facelift or update for the Scorpio N, and we are expecting minor cosmetic changes on the exterior along with an updated or larger touchscreen inside, featuring a better camera and additional features. Mahindra may also offer ADAS as a standard feature across more variants in the updated version.
The petrol version of the Scorpio N is powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion engine, while the diesel version uses a 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged engine. Both petrol and diesel variants are available with manual and automatic transmissions, while the 4x4 option is exclusive to the diesel version.
