Doing stunts on public roads is not only dangerous but illegal too. We have seen many people act irresponsibly on the road and perform stunts just for the sake of creating viral content for social media. Such behaviour is commonly seen among youngsters. One such video recently surfaced online where a young boy in a Mercedes-Benz was seen drifting on a public road. He apologised on camera after he was caught by the cops for this behaviour.
The video has been shared by Surat City Police on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a blue-coloured Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan. The car is finished in a matte blue shade, and we assume that it is actually a wrap. The video was recorded at night, and we see the driver drifting the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the middle of the road.
He performs the stunt for several minutes, and the video of the same was also posted online. It looks like the video was recorded with the intention of creating viral content for social media. The way he was performing the stunt, it didn’t look like he was doing this for the first time. He was performing clean drifts, and it felt like he had control over the car the whole time. While we definitely appreciate his skills, we believe the road was not the right place to showcase them.
The video was posted online and went viral as well. The car was Gujarat-registered, and it looks like the stunt was performed under Surat City Police jurisdiction. They also came across the video and started an investigation into the matter. They soon traced the vehicle and identified the person who was behind the wheel.

It was actually a young boy, and the details of the driver are not available online. After tracing the vehicle and the driver, the cops took both into custody. It looks like the car was seized, and the driver was also arrested for his reckless behaviour on the road. In the video posted by Surat City Police, we hear the driver apologise for his behaviour, and he even says that he is sorry if he has hurt anyone’s sentiments. He also promised not to repeat the mistake in the future.
The exact details of the fine issued against the vehicle are not known. However, when we ran the registration number online, we found that the car was blacklisted by the RTO, and there were several pending challans against the same car.
The car seen in the video is an E-Class 220d, and this is a rear-wheel-drive car. This is the reason why he could perform such stunts in a clean manner. Public roads are for everyone, and this is not the place to perform stunts.
By doing such stunts on a public road, the young driver was putting the lives of many innocent road users at risk. We have come across several incidents in the past where such stunts have gone terribly wrong. If you really want to showcase your skills, it is always a good idea to look for an open ground, private property, or a track and perform such stunts under the supervision of an expert to avoid accidents.
