We have come across videos of several rich businessmen who actually give back to society as a gesture. They even sponsor several charity events to help the less fortunate in society. However, have you ever heard of a millionaire who drives an Uber at night for a noble cause? That is exactly what an Indian entrepreneur visiting Fiji discovered recently during his Uber trip.
Nav Shah, an Indian entrepreneur, was visiting Fiji when he booked an Uber ride. Soon, his ride arrived, and he noticed that an elderly gentleman, probably around 86 years of age, was behind the steering wheel.
Like many Indians, Nav Shah started a conversation with the driver and asked him about his earnings and how he managed his expenses. The reply that Nav Shah received was not something he was expecting. The driver told Mr. Shah that he was not actually an Uber driver but a businessman.
Not just any businessman - but a multi-millionaire. The driver told Shah that his family owned multiple businesses across Fiji, including thirteen jewellery stores, six restaurants, a regional newspaper, a wholesale-retail perfume enterprise, and more. He added that this business empire was not started by him but by his father in 1929.

So, if you’re wondering why a millionaire businessman is driving an Uber, he had an answer for that too. Apart from managing his businesses, he drives an Uber because he sponsors the education of four girl children every year. He has been doing this for the last decade. Every penny he earns by driving Uber goes towards the education of these children.
The driver, or businessman, mentioned that he himself had three daughters and, being fortunate enough, he was able to provide them with a good education, which in turn helped them become successful in life.
Their achievements inspired him to extend similar opportunities to young women and girls in society. His philosophy was to use his success to uplift others, helping more girls achieve their goals and lead more meaningful lives.
While we have seen many people make donations to support the education of the poor, this is probably the first time we have come across someone like him. Sadly, we don’t hear his name or get a clear view of his face in the video.
The comment section under this video is filled with positive remarks such as:
“This is why he is still sharp at 86. He doesn’t need to drive the Uber, but this is how he maintains his connection with ordinary citizens. I believe that out of these experiences, he gets new business ideas and keeps his brain sharp! Science now confirms that social connections like this-while driving Uber-contribute to longevity, including the ability to humble yourself! So he is a clever man.”
“What an absolute legend. The give-back is massive ?.”
“For people who have doubts, I am from Fiji, and he is telling the truth. Search for Motibhai and Co.”
