The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the craziest and most unique-looking vehicles in the world. It looks like a kid who loves UFOs was asked to design a pickup truck. Now, although Tesla has officially entered India, it does not directly sell the Cybertruck in the country. Due to this, a lot of wealthy people in the country have been bringing in the Cybertruck from Dubai and other countries via carnet. Recently, a video showing Mumbai's first Tesla Cybertruck has been shared online.
This video of the Tesla Cybertruck driving on Mumbai roads has been shared on YouTube by CS12 Vlogs on their channel. In this short video, we can note the Tesla Cybertruck driving on the coastal road in Mumbai. It was also cruising on Marine Drive, and it can be seen that it looks extremely unique when compared to the everyday cars seen on the roads.

From the video, we can observe that the registration number of this particular Tesla Cybertruck is from Dubai, and it is a left-hand-drive vehicle. Now, for those who may be wondering why it is, the answer is that this Cybertruck has been privately imported by the owner via carnet. Basically, a carnet is like an international customs document which acts like a “passport for vehicles” when crossing borders.
This pass permits the temporary import of a privately owned vehicle without paying customs duties and registration taxes of the country it is being brought to. Owners of cars applying for carnet need to make a security deposit to the customs department depending on the value of the car. It serves as an assurance to customs authorities that duties will be paid if the vehicle is not re-exported.
Following this, the vehicle can be brought inside the destination country via ship or airplane and stay in the country for the specified period. In most cases, the time for the stay of the vehicle is around six months, after which the vehicle needs to be re-imported back to the country where it came from, and the security deposit is then returned to the owner.

The Tesla Cybertruck seen above in the video is the first in Mumbai. However, it is not the first one in India. A diamond merchant from Gujarat was the first to import a Cybertruck to India via the same carnet route. However, apart from these, recently, the popular engineer-turned-billionaire real estate tycoon Adityaram P, who resides in Chennai, bought India's first privately imported and registered Cybertruck.

As per the reports, the owner has paid Rs 5 crore for his Cybertruck. This price includes the cost of the vehicle, import duties, and all the registration and insurance costs. The price of the Tesla Cybertruck in the international markets for the top-of-the-line variant is $114,990, which is around Rs 1 crore.

The Tesla Cybertruck is offered in dual-motor and tri-motor variants. The most powerful variant of the Cybertruck makes 834 PS of power, and despite weighing a lot, it can reach from 0–100 kmph in just 2.6 seconds. As for the battery pack, it is offered with a 122.4 kWh battery pack, offering a real-world range of around 400 km on a single full charge.
