The internet has become an integral part of our lives, and many people have found ways to generate revenue through this medium. We come across several unique kinds of content every day, and some of them even go viral. In a bid to create viral content, people often end up performing illegal and extremely dangerous stunts, risking their own lives in the process.
Here we have one such video where a boy is seen lying flat on a railway track to create viral content as a train passes over him.
The video has been shared by Ankur on his X profile. It appears to have been recorded on a smartphone, and the exact location of the incident is not known. In the video, we see a person standing on the railway track, preparing himself for the stunt, while his friend records the act.
As the video progresses, we can hear a train approaching. The person recording the video can be heard shouting and asking him to lie flat, as the train was approaching at high speed. We can also hear the horn of the train, but it does not appear that the loco pilot was slowing down.
The boy lies flat between the tracks, and just seconds later, the train passes over him. Throughout the ordeal, he does not move even slightly, probably out of fear that he might get caught in any cables or components under the train and get dragged along. Thankfully, the train was relatively short, and nothing went wrong.
Once the train passes, the boy gets up, visibly surprised to have come out alive. He appears proud of the stunt, almost as if he was expecting a different outcome. Towards the end of the video, the person recording reveals his own face along with the boy who performed the stunt.
The video has already crossed 3 million views on X, which explains why people resort to such extreme acts to gain attention online.
This is not the first time such a video has surfaced on the internet. People often perform dangerous stunts to grab the attention of viewers, gain reach, and get recognition online. While content creation in itself is not wrong, risking one’s life for views certainly is.
The boy clearly risked his life for the sake of viral content. There were countless things that could have gone wrong during this stunt, and even a minor mistake could have cost him his life. The comment section of the video is divided—some users claim the video is fake or AI-generated, while others are furious about the reckless act.
If this video is indeed real, authorities should ideally trace the individuals involved and take strict action against them so that such dangerous behaviour is not repeated in the future. Last year a similar video from Odisha had surfaced online. Authorities were able to track the person who was doing the stunt and they also took action against him. It was a 12 year old boy and his friend who was involved in the stunt were detained and was later presented in front of the Juvenile Justice Board.
