Samajwadi Party Leader Akhilesh Yadav Buys Nissan Patrol Luxury SUV Worth Rs 2 Crore
Politicians in India have evolved over the decades. Earlier, we had leaders who used to serve the people while leading a very humble lifestyle. However, things are different now. Many politicians in India own assets worth crores. Some of them run businesses, and there are even celebrities who have switched careers and become full-time politicians.
Most politicians in India like to travel in a convoy, as they see this as a display of their power. While the Fortuner and Innova Crysta are the favourites among these leaders, there are some who travel in luxury cars too. Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, is one among them. It looks like he recently bought a brand-new Nissan Patrol SUV.
The video has been shared by Autojournal India on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a convoy of white SUVs moving through the crowd. These are followers of the Samajwadi Party. There is an Isuzu MU-X, and just behind that, there is a Nissan Patrol SUV with the party flag.
This is an all-new SUV that was recently added to the collection of Akhilesh Yadav. The Nissan Patrol is an extremely popular SUV in the Middle East. It is the flagship SUV that the Japanese manufacturer offers, but it is not officially sold in India. However, there are many who have imported the car and got it registered here. The Nissan Patrol seen here is also one such car.
This is not the first luxury car owned by Akhilesh Yadav. He was using a Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 and even the Isuzu MU-X SUV. The new Nissan Patrol is registered in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, and it is registered under the name of the Samajwadi Party.
The comment section of this video mentions that this SUV was actually a gift to the politician from an organisation and that Akhilesh didn’t buy it. Akhilesh Yadav is not the only one who owns a current-generation Patrol in India.
Before the politician, celebrities like Salman Khan had bought the SUV. In fact, the actor bought not one but two of these SUVs. Due to security reasons, Salman Khan’s Nissan Patrol is armoured or bulletproof. Akhilesh’s SUV doesn’t look armoured in the video. However, the rear windshield and windows appear tinted. Just like any SUV from this segment, the Nissan Patrol is also loaded with premium features.
The Nissan Patrol bought by Akhilesh Yadav is powered by a 5.6-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 405 hp and 560 Nm of torque. The SUV’s massive engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, and it comes with a four-wheel-drive system as standard. A brand new Nissan Patrol would easily cost you over 2 crore.
In other news, Nissan is working on a baby Nissan Patrol for the Indian market. It is actually a mid-size SUV based on the CMF-B platform. It is the same platform that is used in the Renault Duster. Nissan recently gave us a glimpse or teaser images of the upcoming Nissan SUV. It gets a large front grille and a headlamp design inspired by the Patrol. The SUV is likely to be called Tekton and will be offered with a petrol engine only.
