Tata Nano today may have been forgotten by a lot of people, as more modern cars have come to the market. However, it cannot ever be forgotten that the Nano was something which was more than a car. It was the dream of the late Sir Ratan Tata. Recently, showing his appreciation for the philanthropist industrialist, a Tata Nano owner added a sweet and heartwarming note on his car remembering the icon Sir Ratan Tata.
The image of this heartwarming note has been shared on Reddit. This particular note, with an image of Sir Ratan Tata, was stuck on the rear windshield of a Tata Nano. It said, “Tribute to visionary Ratan Tata. Without you, it was not possible for me to have a car.” A number of people have liked this post on Reddit and have left more heartwarming comments.
While a lot of people have appreciated both the owner of this Nano and Sir Ratan Tata, some have left other comments as well. One of the netizens stated, “I want to put this poster on my tiago.ev because without him there wouldn't be an entry-level EV like Tiago.... and when I upgrade my GV to Safari/Harrier petrol later, I'm gonna put this again because without him there would not be a JLR platform-based Harrier or Safari either :)”

Meanwhile, another user said, “What makes this even more beautiful is that this was the exact reason why Ratan Tata made the Nano. To make cars accessible to everyone, so everyone is sheltered from the rain or elements.” A lot of other people in the comments suggested that Tata Motors should bring back the Nano as an electric vehicle to rival the MG Comet.

A lot of people today see the Nano as a car which was cheaply built and was not very good in real life. However, the story behind the creation of Tata Nano speaks volumes about the pure and sympathetic character that the late Sir Ratan Tata had. It all started back in the early 2000s when Mr. Tata was on the road on a rainy day.
While sitting in his luxury car at a traffic signal, he saw a family of four—a father riding, a mother sitting sideways, and two children standing—on a scooter. This scene made an impression in his mind, and he wanted to solve this issue for people by giving them an affordable car which would make sure that no one had to travel in the dangerous and uncomfortable way Mr. Tata saw that family at the signal.

What happened next was that Ratan Tata gave the engineers at Tata Motors a near-impossible task. He asked them to create a Rs 1 lakh ex-showroom price car with four doors, seating for four adults, a proper roof and crash structure, good fuel efficiency, and compliance with safety and emission norms. As a result, a lot of people doubted him and called it impossible.
However, after years of hard work and Ratan Tata shielding his engineers, the Tata Nano was born. Initially tagged as the “World's Cheapest Car,” the Nano seemed to become a massive hit. But after being in the market and getting criticised and wrongly marketed as “cheap,” the Nano sales started plummeting. Eventually, the Nano had to be discontinued. However, today, years later, people are now seeing the great vision which Mr. Tata had for this hatchback.
