The Tata Sierra is currently the most talked-about SUV on the internet. Bookings have begun, and the SUV has also started reaching dealerships. Deliveries of the Sierra will start in January. While we have already seen several types of online content related to the Sierra, here we have a set of rendered images that show how the Tata Sierra would look if it were to be launched as a convertible.
The images have been shared by Antre Siddharth on his Facebook page. One of the major reasons why the Sierra became an instant hit in the market was its design. It is a differently styled SUV compared to other Tata SUVs currently available in the market. It looks premium and also draws inspiration from the original Sierra in several places.
The digitally rendered images seen here are actually based on the production version of the Sierra. The artist has simply imagined how the Sierra would look if it were to get a convertible version. It is similar to the convertible version of the Evoque that was once available in the market. The Sierra convertible in the images gets the same design as the regular Sierra.
The major difference is the roof, or rather, the absence of one. The front windshield is placed in such a manner that it looks like a free-floating unit. There is no B-pillar, and we also do not see the C-pillar or the rear quarter glass.
The door handles on the regular Sierra are flush-fitting units, but in the convertible version, it looks like the artist has used pull-type handles. The frameless doors and windows also give it a premium look. It looks like the artist might have used AI tools to create this digitally rendered image.
The rear of the Sierra convertible features sleek-looking LED tail lamps with a connecting light bar. The bumper design at the front and rear remains the same. The major difference at the rear is the presence of a cover in the area where we usually see the boot of the Sierra. We assume that the roof of the Sierra convertible folds and is stored under this cover.
It looks like the artist was planning to show how the Sierra convertible might look with the roof up, but it ended up looking more like a Sierra with the roof design of the Tata Curvv. This resulted in a coupe-SUV-like design, which didn’t go well with the overall styling of the SUV.
It should be noted that this is purely the imagination of the artist, and Tata currently has no plans to introduce a convertible version of the Sierra. The SUV is available with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine.
Tata will also be launching an AWD version of the Sierra in the future, and just like most models in Tata’s lineup, the Sierra will also get an EV version, which is expected to be launched in the market next financial year.
