The Tata Sierra is currently one of the most talked about mid-size SUVs in India, and a lot of people are buying it. Most likely, you are also someone who is planning to buy this vehicle and want to know if you should buy it over the newly launched Kia Seltos facelift or any other mid-size SUV, right? Well, to help you with your confusion, here is a detailed review from the owner of a Sierra who chose it over the Kia Seltos.
This video of the owner's perspective on why he bought the Tata Sierra over the Kia Seltos has been shared on YouTube by Sumit Chandila on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger showing the Tata Sierra diesel with its complete genuine accessories, soon after which the vlogger then introduces the owner of this particular Sierra and starts asking him a number of questions about this SUV.
The first question which the host asks the owner is the exact variant and engine option chosen by him for his Sierra. To this, he replies that he has opted for the Pure+ variant with the diesel engine and manual transmission. He added that he has chosen the diesel because he drives his vehicle a lot, and the fuel efficiency of the diesel is much higher than the petrol variants. He mentions that he is getting a fuel efficiency of 18-20 kmpl.

Next up, the vlogger asks about the pricing and the delivery timing, to which the owner replied that he booked the Sierra on January 15 and got its delivery in just three days. He highlighted that he got the delivery so quickly because he and his father have been long-time Tata Motors customers, as they have 25-30 Tata trucks. So, based on the goodwill and the relationship, they were delivered the Sierra very quickly.
As for the pricing, the owner mentions that he paid Rs 18.5 lakh on-road for the vehicle and paid Rs 1.3 lakh for the accessories. The vlogger then asked him if he was forced to buy the accessories by the dealership, like in most places, to which the owner replied that he genuinely loves the accessories and he himself opted to get them fitted on his vehicle.

The owner even emphasized that after buying the vehicle, the accessories took 15 more days to arrive at the dealership, due to which he did not take the delivery of the vehicle first and get the accessories later. Rather, he left the vehicle at the dealership and brought it home after it was completely fitted with the accessories.
Speaking of accessories, the vlogger then shows each of them and asks about their pricing, to which the owner replies that the side steps and the blacked-out parts cost around Rs 40,000, and the roof rails and the Defender-like side ladder were priced at around Rs 52,000, and with some more accessories, the price jumped to Rs 1.35 lakh, but with a discount, he paid Rs 1.3 lakh.

Talking about the choices, the vlogger asked the owner why he did not opt for the Kia Seltos, which was launched at the same time, to which he replied that, according to him, the new Kia Seltos does not look very good. And as the Sierra looks like a mini Land Rover Defender, he bought it instead. He added that the Seltos is a good vehicle.
However, after seeing the first video of the Sierra, he became its fan. The vlogger also asked about the decision to not buy the Creta. To this, the owner replies that he did not want to buy the Creta as he already owns its sister, the Venue.
