Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular SUVs in its segment. It has been ruling this segment for decades now. Like most Toyotas, the Fortuner is known for its reliability and off-road capabilities. We have seen many videos of the Fortuner being modified, and many owners are unwilling to sell the SUV because of its reliability factor. The next-generation Fortuner is already being tested and is expected to come to the market soon. Before its official launch, here we have a video where a current-generation Fortuner has been modified to look like the next-gen Fortuner.
The video has been shared by Auto Gallery on its Instagram page. In this video, we see a Toyota Fortuner with a next-gen body kit installed on it. From the front, it looks very clean, as the body kit installed on it is based on the next-gen SUV that has been unveiled in East Asian markets.
As part of the conversion, the stock headlamps, grille, bumper, bonnet, and fenders have been removed from the Fortuner. The video mentions that this is a premium-quality aftermarket kit made for the current-generation Fortuner and Hilux SUVs. The parts and panels mentioned above have been removed from the vehicle, and the new kit has been installed in their place.
The front fascia of the next-gen Fortuner looks more upright, and the front grille on the SUV is also different from the current one. It is a wide rectangular unit that comes with honeycomb inserts. The SUV’s headlamps are new, and so is the bumper.
The SUV also gets a new bonnet along with new fenders and wheel-arch claddings. The fog lamps are placed on the lower part of the bumper, and the lights are all LED units. We also see a wide lower air dam along with a faux skid plate on the SUV. The side profile of the SUV remains the same. The stock alloy wheels have been replaced with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels from the Legender.
The upper half of the SUV has been finished in black to give it a dual-tone look. The body kit only transforms the front of the SUV. The rear still looks the same as the current-generation model. The major modification done here is to the tail lamps. The stock units have been replaced with clear-lens all-LED aftermarket units with a connecting LED bar and dynamic lighting. The rear bumper has also been replaced, and we also get a body kit installed on the lower part of the bumper.
The owner of the SUV has also opted for an interior transformation. The SUV now gets a black-and-light-brown dual-tone interior theme with aftermarket door pads featuring integrated ambient lighting. The SUV also gets a rewrapped steering wheel and a brand-new 13-inch aftermarket Android touchscreen infotainment system.
The SUV does look like the next-gen Fortuner from the front, but we are not sure about the rear. The rear of the actual next-generation Fortuner is expected to come with much sleeker-looking LED tail lamps, and the SUV is expected to maintain the boxy appearance at the rear that is seen at the front.
