Police authorities across the country are now keeping strict vigilance on social media platforms. This is being done to punish anyone who is making reels doing stunts and other illegal activities. Now, sometimes police officers also get carried away in making such videos, and recently one such traffic police officer from Jammu Kashmir was suspended as he shared a reel in which he was seen stunting using an official police interceptor Toyota Innova Crysta.
The video showing the Jammu and Kashmir traffic police officer stunting using an official Toyota Innova Crysta police interceptor vehicle has been shared on X by Faheem Tak on their page. In this short clip, we can note that a traffic police officer was standing on the front passenger door sill of the Innova Crysta interceptor vehicle.
During this stunt, he can be heard saying that this vehicle will now not stop. He was also waving at the cameraman while performing this stunt. We can note that there was another police officer who was inside the vehicle behind the driver's seat. Now, although nothing happened in this particular video, the officer seen in the clip has been suspended.
Coming to the additional details of this particular incident, it took place on the snow-covered Mughal Road in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. This particular region is known for its treacherous conditions during winters. The name of the police officer seen in the video standing on the door sill is Sub-inspector Gul Sheraz. He was posted as Sector Officer (Traffic) on Mughal Road.

In the video, he was seen using the official Traffic Police Toyota Innova Crysta interceptor vehicle. This particular government-issued law enforcement asset can only be used for official traffic policing duties. However, Sheraz used it to create stunt reels for his personal gain on social media. As a result, when the video became viral, a lot of people objected and questioned the authorities.
Many social media users highlighted that this incident raises serious road safety concerns, particularly as the Mughal Road during the winter season experiences extreme weather conditions. A lot of snow and ice reduce traction and visibility, and due to this, the chances of accidents become very high.
As per the reports, soon after this video became viral and questions were raised, the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police suspended SI Gul Sheraz with immediate effect, pending a formal inquiry. He has been directed to report to Traffic Police Lines, Rural Jammu. Also, his operational duties were withdrawn immediately.
Currently, Anil Kumar, Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI), has been deployed as the new Sector Officer on Mughal Road. Additionally, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic Rural Jammu, has ordered a departmental inquiry into the incident. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic Rajouri-Poonch has been given the responsibility for the inquiry.
Farooq Qaiser, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, has stated that they have a strict Zero Tolerance policy for violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and traffic safety concerns. He highlighted that this policy applies equally to civilians as well as the traffic police personnel of the state.
