The number of young people buying expensive cars in India is on the rise. We see many young entrepreneurs and professionals buying luxury cars, and they have been featured on our website too. There are even instances where people gift expensive cars to each other. Here, we have one such case of a young lady dental surgeon who recently took delivery of not one but two Mercedes G-Wagen SUVs.
The images and videos have been posted by Dr Medharanjan on her Instagram profile. In the video, we see Medha and her father in a reel where they reveal that they have got not one but two G-Wagens. One of them is a G63 AMG, and the other is a G 450d.
The G63 AMG is finished in a golden shade, while the G 450d comes in black. Both look elegant, and in the next post, we see the whole family come together to take delivery of the cars. It looks like the cars were a gift from her father, although the occasion isn’t known.
The G63 AMG is an extremely popular SUV among celebrities, sports personalities, and wealthy businessmen around the world. Many of them are keen to buy this SUV now, as they feel it might be their last chance to own a proper ICE-powered G-Wagen.
Like most manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz also plans to gradually shift towards electric vehicles, as they are considered the future. In fact, the brand already has an electric version of the G-Wagen available in the market.
The G63 AMG has evolved over the years from a military vehicle into a luxury SUV that many people aspire to own. Even today, Mercedes-Benz maintains the boxy, rugged look of the SUV while offering a premium cabin.
The SUV also comes with a variety of customisation options for both the exterior and interior. The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo petrol engine that generates 576 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
The next car on the list is the G 450d. This is a diesel SUV. At a time when many car brands are moving away from diesel engines, Mercedes-Benz has decided to offer the G-Wagen with a diesel option as well.
Compared to the G63 AMG, the exterior of the G 450d gets minor tweaks that differentiate it from the AMG version. The SUV was launched in October 2025 and is powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 362 PS and 750 Nm of peak torque.
This engine also features 48V mild-hybrid technology, which provides assistance at lower speeds. The SUV is mated to an automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Despite being a heavy, boxy diesel SUV, it can sprint from 0–100 kmph in 5.8 seconds. The top speed is 210 kmph.
The price of a brand-new G63 AMG is Rs 3.30 crore (ex-showroom), and customisation can push the price even higher. The G 450d, on the other hand, was launched at a price of Rs 2.90 crore (ex-showroom).
