A number of the YouTubers in India today are taking on off-roading adventures using their luxury SUVs. However, despite driving extremely capable SUVs, they still get stuck doing stupid things for their vlogs. Recently, a popular YouTuber, Ajju 0008, had to be rescued by the Indian Army at Umling La, the world’s highest motorable pass. As a result of this rescue, an important question has been raised asking if the Indian Army is getting disturbed from their duties due to these stupid drivers.
The video showing how the Land Rover Defender of the YouTuber was rescued by the Indian Army has been shared on X by Rattan Dhillon on their page. This particular clip has been taken from the recent vlog shared by the popular YouTuber Ajay Ghudaiya, known for his YouTube channel named Ajju 0008. He owns a Land Rover Defender 110 V8, and he is currently on a winter Leh and Ladakh trip with his friends.
What happened in his last vlog was that he went to drive at the world’s highest motorable pass, Umling La. In the entire vlog, he was seen taking on broken roads, showing the scenic views and the capabilities of his Land Rover Defender. However, towards the end of the vlog, he shared a clip showing a snippet of how his vehicle was rescued by the Indian Army.

In the clip, the vlogger mentions that he and his friend were stuck in a spot which had black ice. It can be noted in the video that the front two wheels were inside a ditch, and the vehicle was unable to come out, following which the Indian Army arrives at the spot with their truck.
The video shows the army truck breaking the ice and driving across the ditch, after which it managed to cross the ditch and rescue the Defender of the YouTuber. The vlogger in the video then thanked an Indian Army officer and told him that they were stuck for two hours at this spot.
This particular post on X has highlighted an important question asking if the Indian Army in the Ladakh region is being increasingly harassed by having to rescue people instead of focusing on their duties. Now, it may seem like it is not a big issue that the Indian Army arrived to rescue the vlogger. However, it has to be noted that there are a lot more people who repeat similar stupidity.
In the video shown above, the vlogger did not have any other support vehicle, nor did he have adequate rescue gear. As a result, the Indian Army had to be called to bring this vehicle out of the ditch. In the video, he also mentions that this particular incident happened during the night, which makes it even more stupid, as people should not be driving at night, especially in -28 degrees Celsius.

The person who shared the post also questioned the authorities who give such YouTubers and influencers permission to travel to such risky passes during dangerous seasons. Dhillon added, “Incidents like these not only put civilian lives at risk but also unnecessarily endanger and distract the Indian Army.”
A number of netizens have also shared their thoughts on this incident. One of the users stated, “Absolutely agree. Adventure shouldn’t come at the cost of Army lives and resources. Strict permissions and seasonal bans are necessary to protect civilians and let our forces focus on national security.”
Meanwhile, another user added, “It’s just a skill issue with Indians. Americans and Europeans routinely drive vehicles in worse weather conditions, being aware of the precautions to take. Americans can dial 911 and get help anywhere, while Indians get stuck with no recourse. Freedom must always prevail over cost.”
