The Renault Kwid CNG is the most affordable CNG vehicle in India, and it starts at Rs 4.29 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.47 lakh. It does not get a company-fitted CNG kit. Instead, it gets a dealer-level approved retrofitment kit. Powering this hatchback is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 67 bhp and 91 Nm of torque.
Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the hatchback gets a 10 kg CNG tank. Top variants of the Kwid get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, reverse parking camera, LED DRLs, and roof rails.

The second most affordable CNG vehicle that you can buy today is the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso S-CNG. It starts at Rs 4.61 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.11 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes powered by the time-tested 1.0-litre K10C Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine. In CNG mode, this engine produces 56 bhp and 82.1 Nm of torque and comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The hatchback offers a claimed mileage of 32.73 km/kg and comes equipped with a 55-litre (water) CNG tank.
Now coming to the features, it comes with 180 mm ground clearance, front power windows, power steering, air conditioning, digital instrument cluster, and Bluetooth music system on higher variants. It also gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and high-speed alert systems.

Next up is the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 S-CNG, which starts at Rs 4.81 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.31 lakh (ex-showroom). This hatchback also comes equipped with the same 1.0-litre K10C Dual Jet engine which makes 56 bhp and 82.1 Nm in CNG mode. It is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. As for mileage, it offers 33.85 km/kg and comes fitted with a 55-litre (water) CNG tank. The feature list is the same as the S-Presso.

The French automaker Citroen offers its entry-level model, the C3, with a CNG kit. It starts at Rs 4.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering the Citroen C3 CNG is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated PureTech petrol engine which comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
It offers a claimed mileage of 28.1 km/kg and comes with a 55-litre (water) CNG tank. In terms of features, it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control.

The Tata Motors Tiago iCNG hatchback starts at Rs 5.53 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.91 lakh. The Tiago iCNG comes powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder engine which makes 74 bhp and 96 Nm in CNG mode. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox and a segment-first AMT automatic option.
As for the mileage, the figures stand at 26.49 km/kg for manual variants and 28.06 km/kg for AMT variants. One of the biggest highlights of the Tiago iCNG is its twin-cylinder technology. This dual-cylinder setup helps in freeing up usable boot space. Its features include a Harman touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, automatic climate control, and electrically foldable ORVMs.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG is another one of the most popular CNG cars in the country. It starts at Rs 5.88 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.41 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes equipped with the 1.0-litre K10C Dual Jet petrol engine which makes 56 bhp and 82.1 Nm in CNG mode. Like other Maruti Suzuki cars, it also gets all the basic features.

The Renault Triber is the most affordable 7-seater MPV in India which offers a CNG kit. It starts at Rs 5.80 lakh and goes up to Rs 8 lakh for the top-of-the-line variant. As for the powerplant, it comes with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine which makes 72 bhp and 96 Nm of torque.
It comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and gets a 10 kg CNG tank. The Triber’s list of features includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, LED DRLs, automatic climate control, and steering-mounted controls.

Although it may not be for everyone, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco is one of the most popular affordable minivans in the country. It is also offered with a CNG kit, and it is priced at Rs 6.35 lakh. Powering this minivan is a 1.2-litre K12N Dual Jet petrol engine which makes around 71 bhp and 95 Nm in CNG mode. It comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and offers a claimed mileage of 26.78 km/kg. As for the CNG tank, it comes with a 65-litre (water) tank.

Last on this list is the Hyundai Aura Hy-CNG. This sub-compact sedan with the CNG kit starts at Rs 6.90 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.54 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering this sedan is a 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel Kappa engine which makes around 69 bhp and 95.2 Nm in CNG mode. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
