The German automotive giant Volkswagen India is gearing up to launch its mid-size SUV, the Taigun's facelift, in India. Like its cousin sibling, the Skoda Kushaq facelift, it too will be getting a number of new features and design updates. So, if you are interested in knowing what 10 things will be new on the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun facelift, then you have stumbled upon the right spot.

The first and the most important update of the new Taigun facelift will be a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Currently, the Taigun is offered with a single-pane electric sunroof. However, like the Kushaq facelift, most likely when the Taigun facelift gets launched, the higher-spec variants will be offered with a panoramic sunroof and the lower (even the entry-level variant) will get a single-pane electric sunroof.

Another major update on the new Taigun will be the 8-speed AISIN automatic gearbox. The 6-speed torque converter automatic offered with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which makes 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, will be replaced by the new 8-speed automatic gearbox. This new gearbox will offer better fuel efficiency, smoother gear shifts, and improved highway cruising. Like Kushaq, the mileage will go from 15.78 kmpl to 19.09 kmpl.

A feature which is mostly seen on luxury cars, rear seat massaging is now being offered on the new Kushaq facelift. Hence, the same feature will be seen on the new Volkswagen Taigun as well. The front seats will get ventilation, and the rear seats on the Taigun will get massaging rear seats. This feature is basically being offered for buyers who like to be driven by a chauffeur.

Volkswagen will also be offering the new Taigun facelift with a bigger 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, which will be called the “Virtual Cockpit”. It will offer features such as turn-by-turn navigation, customisable layouts, and real-time vehicle data.

Although the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre will not be changed, it will be getting Google Gemini AI assistant. It will recognise voice commands for car functions, real-time information, hands-free interaction, and also offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

On the outside, the new Volkswagen Taigun facelift will boast a full-width connecting LED DRL. Additionally, the SUV will also get new connected LED taillights with sequential turn indicators as well. All of these updates will give it a much more modern and premium look.

Another major highlight of the new Volkswagen Taigun will be the illuminated front and rear logos. The test mule spotted so far has been seen with the front illuminated Volkswagen logo, which gives the vehicle a very premium and futuristic look.
Like the Kushaq facelift, the new Volkswagen Taigun facelift will also be getting front parking sensors. These sensors will be available from the base variants and will make tight parking easier.
This particular update of the Taigun will also be getting rear disc brakes. However, it will most likely be limited to the 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine variants. All four disc brakes will help in improving the braking performance of the new Taigun.
Last on this list are alloy wheels. The new Taigun facelift will be offered with a set of new 16-inch (base variants) and 17-inch (top-of-the-line variants) alloy wheels. Most likely, the higher variants will get sporty dual-tone alloy wheels, and the lower variants will get silver alloy wheels.
