Hyundai just launched the 2026 Verna in the market earlier today. The mid-size sedan has been launched at a starting price of Rs 10.98 lakh, ex-showroom. Hyundai says they have made around 25 changes to the sedan to make it more appealing in this segment. Like most Hyundai cars in India, the Verna is also rich in terms of features. It competes with cars like the Skoda Slavia, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus in the segment. Here we have a list of 10 features that the 2026 Verna sedan gets but the competition doesn’t.

We’ll start from the driver’s seat. The 2026 version of the Hyundai Verna comes with 8-way electrically adjustable seats. These seats are not only adjustable but also get a memory function, which is a segment-first feature. Like many premium SUVs, the Verna’s driver seat also gets a welcome retract function.
Hyundai Verna is the only car in the segment to offer this feature. It is Hyundai’s way of offering the Boss Mode feature in their car. This allows rear passengers to electronically adjust the front seat forward or backward using buttons on the side of the seat. This helps in liberating a lot more space for the rear passengers.
In order to save the rear-seat passengers from scorching heat and offer a bit of privacy, Hyundai is offering manual sunshades for the rear seats. While many brands are offering this feature, the Verna is the only sedan in the segment to get this.

Like most Hyundais, the Verna also gets the curvilinear display, which is a set of two 10.25-inch displays spread across the dashboard. One of them is a fully digital instrument cluster, while the other is a touchscreen infotainment system.

We first saw this feature in the Kia Syros. Hyundai has offered this feature in the Verna too, where a button on the dashboard can be used to control both the infotainment system as well as the AC in the car. The button seamlessly switches between the functions.
While we have seen this in many Hyundai cars, the Verna is the only sedan in this segment to get a 360-degree camera or Surround View Monitor, as Hyundai likes to call it.

The Hyundai Verna 2026 comes with 6 airbags as standard; however, in certain variants Hyundai is offering 7 airbags with the Verna. Apart from the usual driver, passenger and curtain airbags, Hyundai is offering an additional centre side airbag in certain variants.
With the number of cars increasing, the number of accidents and road rage incidents are also on the rise. Investing in a dashcam is not a wrong thing to do in today’s world. Hyundai knows this, and that is probably the reason why they are offering a dashcam with the 2026 Verna from the factory.

The Hyundai Verna not only offers a smart boot, which is Hyundai’s way of calling a powered tailgate, but at 528 litres, Hyundai is also offering the largest boot space in the segment. The Honda City offers 506 litres, while the Virtus and Slavia offer 521 litres of boot space.
The Hyundai Verna is offered with two petrol engines: a 1.5-litre NA petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This turbo petrol engine generates 160 Ps and 253 Nm of torque. This is the most powerful engine in this segment.
