Skoda and Volkswagen have actually gained buyers' attention in the Indian market by revising their strategy for the country. They introduced products that were not just made in India but specifically designed for our market. At a time when the sedan segment is shrinking, Skoda and Volkswagen introduced sedans that later became best-sellers in the segment. Here we have a list of 4 such sedans from Skoda and Volkswagen that are launching in the market this year.

Skoda is currently working on the facelift of its popular mid-size sedan, the Slavia. The sedan has already been spotted testing multiple times, and we have an idea of what to expect from it. From the images of the test mules, it looks like the Slavia sedan will come with a revised front grille, connected LED DRLs similar to the Kushaq facelift, tweaked headlamps, revised bumpers, new alloy wheels, and revised tail lamps.
The sedan is also expected to get a larger driver's display, seat ventilation, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, electric seats, and so on. Skoda may even offer a rear-seat massage function with the Slavia. The sedan is currently available with a 1.5-litre TSI engine paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and a 1.0-litre TSI engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 100 units in the first batch of the Octavia vRS received an overwhelming response from buyers. Skoda is now preparing to bring a second batch of the Octavia vRS to India. The launch is expected to happen around the festive season this year.
It is a proper four-door sedan that comes loaded with premium features such as an electric sunroof, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-speaker Canton audio system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, and more.
The performance sedan is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that generates 263 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
Skoda has already shared its intention to reintroduce diesel engines in India. The Skoda Superb is one of the sedans expected to receive a diesel engine. The diesel versions will be sold as CBUs and brought to India in limited numbers. This also means that the sedan is going to be expensive.

The Superb diesel has already been spotted on Indian roads and is expected to launch later this year. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engine paired with a DSG transmission. Power will be sent to all four wheels through an all-wheel-drive system.
After the Taigun facelift, Volkswagen is now working on the Virtus facelift. It is expected to be offered with a revised grille, headlamps, and bumpers. The sedan is also likely to come with new alloy wheels and LED tail lamps connected by an LED light bar.

The updated Virtus sedan will feature a refreshed cabin with more features than the current version. It will continue to be offered with the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engine options. The smaller engine is expected to be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
