
Buyers who have been eyeing to buy a new 7-seater SUV should get ready for what's coming. This year, a total of 6 new affordable 7-seater SUVs will be launched in India. Now, if you want to know the details of these upcoming 7-seater SUVs, then you have come to the right spot.

Mahindra has been relentlessly working on the development of the facelifted iteration of its popular SUV, the Scorpio-N. It is expected to make its debut around August of this year. The major design update will include a heavily redesigned front grille, updated sleeker LED headlamps and bumper, along with revised fog lamps and air dam.
It will also boast a set of new and bigger 19-inch alloy wheels, and there will be minor tweaks to the rear LED tail lamps and bumper. On the inside, it will get a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, and ADAS features.
The same 2.0-litre turbo petrol (mStallion) and 2.2-litre diesel (mHawk) engines will continue. Pricing of the new Scorpio-N will be in the range of Rs 14-26 lakh. It will rival the Tata Safari, Mahindra Thar ROXX, and others.

Apart from the launch of the Mahindra Scorpio-N, the company is also gearing up for the launch of the Scorpio Classic facelift as well. This time around, the Scorpio Classic is expected to feature a set of sleeker headlamps with LED DRLs and an updated grille with chrome slats. It will also get redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels, and revised LED tail lamps.
On the inside, it most likely will get an improved touchscreen infotainment system and better overall fit and finish. Mechanically, it will remain the same and come powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel engine making 130 PS and 300 Nm of torque, and will only be offered with a manual gearbox. The Scorpio Classic facelift is expected to make its debut later this year and will be priced in the range of Rs 13 to 18 lakh.

Tata Motors, in the Q4 of 2026, is expected to launch its flagship full-size electric SUV, the Safari EV, in India. It is believed that the company will be offering it with two powertrain options of single motor (RWD) and dual motor (AWD). The dual motor version is expected to make 390 bhp and 504 Nm of torque.
As for the 0-100 kmph, despite it being a heavy SUV, it is expected to achieve a sub-7-second figure. Tata Motors could offer the Safari EV with 65 kWh (500 km) and 75 kWh (600 km) battery pack options. Main highlights could include Vehicle-to-load (V2L) & V2V charging, transparent chassis view, Auto Park Assist, and Summon Mode, along with others. Pricing of the Safari EV will be around Rs 28-35 lakh.

Based on the new-generation Duster’s CMF-B architecture, Renault will be launching the 7-seater Boreal in India. It is expected to make its debut in 2027. In terms of the major differences, it will boast a longer wheelbase, which will result in more space inside the cabin to accommodate the third row of seats. As for the design changes, it will feature sleek LED headlamps and triangular DRLs.
It will also get dual-tone 19-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, premium materials, electric seats with ventilation, multi-zone climate control, ADAS Level 2, a 360-degree camera, and drive modes. Powertrain options will include the 1.3-litre turbo petrol making 163 PS and 280 Nm, and the 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol. Pricing will be around Rs 14-22 lakh.

Based on the Tekton mid-size SUV, Nissan, just like the Renault Boreal, will also be launching Tekton’s 7-seater sibling. In terms of the dimensions, it will be similar to Boreal, and in terms of the design, it will be similar to Tekton. It will be making its debut in 2027 and will be priced in the range of Rs 14-22 lakh.

Last on this list is the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater. Expected to make its debut by the end of this year, the 7-seater version of the Hyryder has been spotted testing in Ladakh. It was noted that the test mule featured a longer rear overhang and an extended wheelbase to accommodate the third row. In terms of the overall design, it looked very similar to the 5-seater model.
Most likely, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater will be offered with the same 1.5-litre mild hybrid and strong hybrid drivetrain options. It is also expected to carry forward the same AWD system as well. Pricing of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater will be around Rs 15-22 lakh.
