The Japanese automotive giant Honda Cars India Limited is now planning to take back its lost market share in India. For this, the company is gearing up to launch a number of new products in India. Of these, a number of them will be hybrid, and today we will be giving you the details of 6 upcoming Honda cars in India which will be offered with a strong hybrid powertrain. So, without any delay, let's jump right into the subject.

The biggest surprise launch planned from Honda for the Indian market is the all-new Honda Prelude. Recently, the latest-generation Prelude was unveiled globally, and it has been reported that Honda will be bringing it to India. The Prelude coupe will be launched either by late 2026 or early 2027 as a CBU import. The new Prelude is based on the same platform as the eleventh-generation Civic. It boasts a sleek two-door coupe design with a 2+2 seating layout.
Powering the Prelude will be Honda’s dual-motor hybrid setup, which includes a 2.0-litre petrol engine and two electric motors. The petrol engine makes 139 bhp. Meanwhile, the electric traction motor makes 181 bhp and 315 Nm torque. It will also come with a unique “S+ Shift” virtual gearshift system, which simulates an 8-speed transmission experience. The Prelude will go from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.2 seconds and still offer a fuel efficiency of 23.6 kmpl. Honda is expected to price it around Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom).

Recently, Honda also revealed that it is preparing for the launch of the next-generation Honda Civic for global markets. It has also been announced that it could be making its way to India as well. It is believed that the Civic could make a reentry into India by 2027. The new Civic Hybrid is based on Honda’s all-new modular hybrid platform. It will be around 90 kg lighter than the current architecture.
Honda has highlighted that this new platform focuses on driving pleasure, sharper handling, and improved efficiency. The hybrid setup will also offer smoother acceleration and better responsiveness while maintaining strong fuel efficiency. At the moment, the exact powertrain details have not been revealed by the company. Most likely, if the new Civic is launched locally through the CKD route, its pricing could start from around Rs 28 to 35 lakh.

Honda discontinued the CR-V back in 2020, and since then, the company has not launched any flagship SUV (ZR-V will not be a mass-market flagship). However, it has now been reported that Honda is planning to launch the next-generation CR-V in India by 2027. It will be positioned above the Elevate and will target premium SUV buyers.
The next-gen CR-V will be based on Honda’s lighter modular hybrid platform and will share over 60 percent of components with the new Civic and Accord. Powertrain duties will be handled by a new 2.0-litre petrol hybrid setup paired with new electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack. Honda is also expected to offer an e-AWD setup where the rear wheels will be powered by an independent electric motor.
In terms of features, it is expected to offer a massive 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ADAS, premium interiors, and a more spacious cabin. Once launched, it will rival SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron. Pricing is expected to start from around Rs 45 lakh and could go up to Rs 55 lakh.

As per recent reports, Honda is also evaluating the launch of the new-generation Honda Accord in India. It is believed that because of the increasing popularity of hybrid cars in India, demand is rising, and now the company is gearing up for the Accord’s potential comeback. Most likely, if the company does finalize it for an India launch, we will be seeing it around 2027 or 2028.
The new Accord Hybrid in international markets is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with Honda’s advanced e:HEV hybrid system. It uses an intelligent multi-mode drive setup, which can switch between EV mode, hybrid mode, and engine drive mode. The sedan will also come loaded with premium features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Google built-in tech, advanced ADAS, ventilated seats, and a highly refined cabin. Honda could price the Accord Hybrid in the range of Rs 40 to 50 lakh in India.

Honda has now officially confirmed that it is currently developing a brand-new sub-4-metre SUV for India. It is expected to make its debut by 2028. This upcoming SUV will rival models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Honda currently does not offer an SUV in this highly competitive segment, and this upcoming model is expected to play a major role in increasing the company’s sales in India. The SUV will most likely be offered with petrol and strong hybrid powertrain options, along with a feature-loaded cabin and modern styling. Expected pricing for this SUV could start from Rs 9 lakh and go up to around Rs 16 lakh, depending on the powertrain and features.

Apart from the sub-4-metre SUV, Honda is also developing a new mid-size SUV. It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. This new SUV is expected to replace the Elevate in the future and will reportedly launch after 2028.
Honda is expected to heavily upgrade the feature list compared to the Elevate. It will also offer multiple powertrain choices, which will include a strong hybrid setup, a turbo petrol engine, and a fully electric variant in the future. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 14 lakh to Rs 24 lakh.
