Honda recently released a teaser for the upcoming Honda City facelift, which is scheduled to launch on May 22. The car has already started reaching dealerships, and we now have a fairly good idea of what to expect from the updated sedan. Before the official launch takes place, here is everything you need to know about the new Honda City facelift.

Images of the car parked outside dealerships have already surfaced online, giving us a clear look at the sedan’s design. Honda has done an extensive redesign of the front end. The sedan now comes with sleeker LED headlamps along with LED DRLs positioned on top. The headlamps feature a blacked-out treatment on the inside, which gives the car a sportier appearance.
The front fascia has also been revised. If you look closely at the images, you will notice honeycomb inserts on the front grille that partially extend towards the bumper.

The bumper itself gets a clean yet sporty design with a lower air dam. There is also a triangular trim element on the bumper that is expected to house the fog lamps.
The main highlight at the front is the connected LED light bar positioned just above the grille. It stretches across the width of the vehicle and seamlessly connects with the DRLs. Honda’s logo sits above the grille, while the sedan also gets a clamshell bonnet with sharp and clean character lines.
Coming to the side profile, the overall silhouette remains similar to the outgoing model. However, the City facelift now gets a new set of alloy wheels finished in a gunmetal grey shade. Depending on the variant, the wheel size is expected to range between 15 and 16 inches.

Moving to the rear, the next noticeable change is the tail lamps. While the overall design remains similar to the current model, Honda has introduced smoked LED tail lamps with a clear-lens treatment. The tailgate design remains unchanged, but just like the front, the rear bumper has also been redesigned. It now gets honeycomb-style inserts in the lower section, and we can also spot the reverse parking camera.
The interior of the Honda City facelift is also expected to receive several updates. The cabin now gets a black-and-beige theme, which gives it a more premium look. Lower variants are expected to retain the same colour theme but may use different materials.

There are soft-touch materials on the dashboard, door pads, and other touchpoints. The sedan is also expected to come with features like an electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, a 360-degree camera with a dedicated button on the left-side stalk behind the steering wheel, ventilated seats, Honda Sensing ADAS features, a digital instrument cluster, and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Other expected features include an auto-dimming IRVM, LaneWatch assist cameras mounted under the ORVMs, and improved camera quality compared to the outgoing model.
The car is also expected to offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control with physical buttons, and a multifunction steering wheel with controls for the MID and infotainment system.

Mechanically, the sedan is expected to continue with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated DOHC petrol engine that produces 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. This engine will continue to be offered with both manual and CVT gearbox options.
While we have only seen images and videos of the standard City facelift so far, we expect the same exterior and interior updates to be carried over to the Honda City e:HEV variant as well. It remains to be seen whether Honda will continue with the existing hybrid system or introduce upgrades for improved efficiency.
The current Honda City is priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 16 lakh, while the hybrid version costs around Rs 20 lakh. With all the styling updates and additional features, we expect the facelifted model to be priced around Rs 15,000–20,000 higher than the outgoing version.
