The South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor India Limited has been losing its market share for some time now. So, in order to make sure that it makes a great comeback, the company is gearing up to launch a number of new models in India. Of these, the most highly anticipated Maruti Suzuki Fronx rival, the Hyundai Bayon, has been spied testing once again in India. In the test mule, we can note that it is a lower-spec version of the Bayon, which will most likely be launched later this year or by early next year.
The video showing the fully camouflaged test mule of the Hyundai Bayon has been shared on Instagram by Trakin Auto on their page. It starts off with a rear shot of this test mule driving on public roads. We can note that the rear end of the upcoming Bayon crossover SUV has been hidden by a thick black cover. However, we can still note that this test mule is equipped with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and a long, high-mounted stop lamp.

Most likely, the LED taillights will get a connecting LED light bar in the middle as well. Apart from this, the SUV has also been given a shark fin antenna, and the overall tailgate is very upright. Soon after this, the clip then shows the side profile of this SUV. We can note that it has been fitted with 5-spoke silver alloy wheels. The previous test mules that have been seen were seen with more complex-looking diamond-cut alloy wheels.
This suggests that it could be a lower-spec variant of the upcoming Bayon crossover, which has been internally codenamed the BC4i. The side profile also shows that the crossover SUV will be getting a set of integrated roof rails, which will add to the sporty design characteristic. This particular video does not show the front end of the Bayon. However, we know that it will be getting a set of inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and headlights.

As mentioned above, Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of the Bayon, which internally has been codenamed the BC4i. This SUV will be based on the K2 Platform, which is shared with the Hyundai Creta, old Venue, and other Kia models. Most likely, it will be making its debut in India by the end of this year or by early next year.
In this particular spy video, the interior of the Bayon has not been shown. However, it is believed that the Bayon in India will be getting a lighter color scheme as opposed to the all-black theme of the one spotted in Korea. Also, like all Hyundai cars, it will feature premium materials and will come loaded with features.

Its list of features will include a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument gauge cluster, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, push-start-stop button, premium leather upholstery, six airbags as standard, ADAS Level 2 with lane-change assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and many others. It will also get a 360-degree camera and other safety features.
Powertrain-wise, the upcoming Hyundai Bayon is expected to come offered with the new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is being developed by the company at the moment. It could also get a smaller 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. The turbo-petrol version of the new engine will be offered with manual and DCT transmissions. There are reports which have suggested that it could get a strong hybrid powertrain as well.
