Hyundai soft-launched the facelifted Exter in India last week. The updated model starts from Rs Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 9.42 lakh, ex-showroom for the range-topping variant. The facelift has brought the carmaker’s new-age variant nomenclature system to the micro-SUV. It now comes in seven trims- HX2, HX3, HX4, HX4+, HX6, HX8, and HX10. A video showing the range-topping HX10 variant has now been shared online. Though not a conventional vlog, it shows the new Exter HX10 and its features in detail.
The clip opens by showing the exterior design of the facelift. 8 colours are available on the updated model. The vehicle in this video is finished in Grey. First, the video shows the styling changes at the front. Hyundai has taken a conservative approach with the facelift, choosing to fine-tune the existing design rather than overhaul it completely.
The front fascia now has a gloss black strip connecting clusters that house the LED DRLs and indicator lamps. It has ‘EXTER’ written on it. The nose looks clean and modern. The grille has grown slightly in size and now looks more modern than before.

The front bumper has been redesigned and now features a silver insert along with a faux skid plate. The facelift continues to be offered with halogen projector headlamps with Chrome surrounds. Overall, the front end feels fresh without straying too far from the original visual identity.
The silhouette sees no change on the facelift. The only change that you would notice in the side view would be the wheels. The range-topping Exter facelift rides on new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and 175/65 CEAT tyres.

The side view mirrors (ORVMs) feature integrated indicator lamps. The video also shows the dark-themed body cladding and thick wheel arches, bridge-type Black-painted roof rails, and shark-fin antenna.
Notably, the C-pillar garnish and the rear applique connecting tail lamps have been redesigned. These now feature more linear patterns. Another major change is in the design of the rear-spoiler. The previous Exter’s spoiler had a notably subtler design. The updated model features a dual-wing type design for the spoiler- almost reminding us of the new Verna.
The tail lamps feature the familiar design and combine both LED and halogen units. They still have ‘H’ motifs in them. The rear bumper has also been redesigned, and comes with two parking sensors, a faux skid plate, and integrated reflectors. A reverse camera, rear wiper, and defogger are also visible in the rear view.

Later, the video shows the car’s interior and some of its features. The new Exter gets a revised cabin colour scheme. It now comes with a dual-tone Navy and Grey combination. A Carbon fibre-inspired trim can be seen on the dashboard. The steering wheel and gear lever are leatherette-wrapped. There is ample room and thigh support at the rear and the front seats are comfortable as well.
The equipment array consists of automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, footwell lighting, integrated dashcam, electrically folding ORVMs, wireless charger, cooled glovebox, cruise control, a foldable driver armrest, Type-C charging ports at the rear, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, four-speaker audio, pre-loaded ‘sounds of nature’, digital instrument cluster, push-button start, connected car features, tyre pressure monitoring system, support for Over The Air (OTA) updates, metal pedals, a single-pane sunroof and more.

The regular petrol variants of the updated Exter continue to offer 391 litres of boot space. On the CNG version, you only get 255 litres. On the HX10, the boot comes with a rear parcel tray and a boot lamp. The spare wheel is a 14-inch unit.
The safety suite consists of six airbags, hill-start assist control, ESC, and more.

Hyundai hasn’t made any changes to the engine and transmission options. The facelifted Exter comes with the same two engines as before- 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and CNG. The former can be had with a five-speed manual and an AMT transmission, while only the manual is offered on the CNG version. The regular petrol version produces 83hp and 114Nm while the CNG powertrain has an output of 69hp and 95Nm.
