Kia launched the all-new generation Seltos in the market this year. The SUV has already been launched and is doing well in terms of sales. Every month, Kia is managing to sell over 10,000 units of the Seltos in India. Compared to the previous generation, the new Seltos has grown in size. It is wider and longer than before and is also based on a new K3 platform.

Apart from the existing variants, Kia is planning to expand the lineup. What are those? Let’s find out. Kia already offers the Seltos in 10 trims - HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTX, HTX (A), GTX, GTX (A), X-Line, and X-Line (A).
This is one of the variants expected to be introduced in the Seltos soon. The new GTX+ variant is likely to be positioned as the top-end trim among the GT Line versions. While we don’t have complete details about the features yet, it is expected to offer slightly more than the regular GTX variant.

We could see additions like a dashcam, head-up display (HUD), and a couple of extra features for differentiation. It will continue to offer premium features such as Level 2 ADAS, electrically adjustable seats, memory function, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, manual sunshades, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
The next variant Kia is expected to introduce is the X-Line (O), also referred to as X-Line+. Just like the GTX+, the X-Line (O) will be the range-topping variant in the X-Line lineup.

It will continue to be offered in matte black or grey shades, although we may see additional cosmetic elements on the exterior or updates inside the cabin to differentiate it further. In terms of features, it is expected to mirror what the GTX+ variant offers.
Both the GTX+ and X-Line (O) variants are expected to be available with turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engine options, paired only with automatic and DCT gearbox options.
This is likely to be the most significant update for the Seltos. Kia already offers a hybrid version of the Seltos in international markets, which uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 141 PS and 264 Nm of peak torque, paired with an automatic transmission.

However, the Seltos Hybrid planned for the Indian market will be different. It is expected to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a strong hybrid system, consisting of an electric motor and a battery pack integrated into the powertrain.
The primary reason Kia is not introducing the existing 1.6-litre hybrid system in India is due to localisation efforts aimed at reducing costs.
The Seltos will not be the first Kia model to receive this technology. Before the Seltos, the same hybrid system is expected to be introduced in the Kia Sorento, a 7-seater SUV. After that, the next-generation Hyundai Creta is also likely to get this strong hybrid setup. The Kia Seltos Hybrid is expected to be launched sometime in 2027.
