Mahindra is preparing an update for one of its most important SUV models in India- the Scorpio-N. The facelifted version has now been spotted on test again. This time, it was seen driving through busy roads in South India. The facelift is expected to come with both design revisions and feature additions. Despite the camouflage, the video gives us a fairly good idea of what to expect from the updated model, particularly on the design front.
The new video has been shared on the channel Auto Buzz India. It shows the rear, side and front views of the facelift. The rear end appears to closely resemble that of the outgoing model. We may, however, see slight revision in the design of its LED tail lamps and the rear bumper. The silhouette remains largely unchanged, except for the new set of alloy wheels. These seem to be 19-inch units sourced from the Thar ROXX. For perspective, the outgoing Scorpio-N has 18-inch wheels.
The front fascia is expected to undergo significant restyling on the facelift. The grille section will be redesigned heavily. The outgoing model has a Black-themed grille with six vertical Chrome slats.

On the new model, the grille section will grow in size and have different detailing. From what can be seen in this video, it is likely to get four thick vertical slats with a segmented texture. Time remains before we learn details of the actual design. This could also be the camouflage confusing us.
The headlamps will see design improvements. The fog lamps, air dam and front bumper will also be redesigned. Overall, the exterior design seems to be evolving into something more premium and upmarket.

Look closely and you will notice that the vehicle in this video has a large central infotainment screen. This will be one of the biggest and most significant changes inside. The outgoing model has an 8-inch touchscreen that feels very dated in 2026. The new screen will likely be a 10.25-inch unit or larger, equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We may also see minor improvements in the design of the dashboard.
The new Scorpio-N will reportedly be equipped with a large panoramic sunroof, though not visible in this video. The current model offers just a single-pane electric sunroof, while many competitors already come with panoramic units.
Another expected update is the addition of an all-digital instrument cluster instead of the semi-digital unit on the outgoing model. The facelift is also expected to democratize the ADAS suite. It is currently offered only on the higher trims. With the facelift, more variants will likely get these features.

The facelifted Scorpio-N will continue to use the same petrol and diesel engines- 2.0L turbocharged petrol (mStallion) and 2.2L turbocharged diesel (mHawk). Manual and automatic transmission options will be offered with both these powertrains.
The facelifted Scorpio-N will continue to be underpinned by the rugged ladder-frame platform and will offer four-wheel-drive on higher (diesel) variants. In India, the Scorpio-N competes with the likes of Tata Safari and MG Hector (and Hector Plus). These rivals are based on monocoque platforms, making the Scorpio-N a favourite among people looking for a rugged, no-nonsense, ladder-frame SUV.
Mahindra first launched the Scorpio-N in 2022. Rivals like the Safari, Hector and Alcazar have since got updates that brought a host of new features and more technology to these models. There is now a clear tech-gap between the Scorpio-N and its competitors. The facelift aims to address the same, and make the SUV competitive again.
