One of the latest launches from Mahindra, the XUV 7XO has become a major hit in India. This SUV has received a lot of praise, and so far we have seen a lot of top-of-the-line variants on public roads. However, recently, the company has started dispatching the XUV 7XO AX base variants to its dealerships across the country. And finally, after months, a detailed video showing the base AX variant of the XUV 7XO has been shared online.
This video of the Mahindra XUV 7XO base AX variant has come courtesy of Developing Autos on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that this is the first time that the base AX variant is being shown on video. Following this, he starts giving a detailed walkaround of the Mahindra XUV 7XO AX variant. This particular variant starts at Rs 13.66 lakh with the petrol engine, and the diesel model starts at Rs 14.96 lakh.

After the introduction, the presenter then starts showing the front fascia of the XUV 7XO AX base variant. We can note that it gets the exact same front fascia as the top-of-the-line variants. Its main highlights include Bi-LED projector headlights and signature C-shaped LED DRLs. It also gets a glossy black front grille, which is completely new. It misses out on front parking sensors, ADAS Level 2 sensors, front camera, and fog lights.

Next up, the vlogger moves to the side profile of this SUV. We can note that, like the high-spec variants, it gets the same gloss black claddings, flush-type door handles, and black roof rails. It also comes equipped with gloss black ORVMs and 17-inch steel wheels. The top-of-the-line variants get 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Finally, the vlogger then shows the rear end of the XUV 7XO. It comes equipped with the same LED taillights with honeycomb pattern, gloss black rear bumper cladding, and shark fin antenna. As for the features it misses out on, it does not get rear wiper, washer, and defogger. Overall, the base variant from the outside looks decently equipped.
A lot of times, we have seen that automakers do not offer a lot of high-end features on the base variants of their cars. However, Mahindra has taken a different approach. The base AX variant of the XUV 7XO comes offered with the same dual-tone tan beige color theme which the higher-spec variants come equipped with. It has to be noted that it does not get a leather-wrapped dashboard. However, the color scheme is the same.

Mahindra is also offering the XUV 7XO AX with the same connected triple-screen setup, which comprises three 12.3-inch screens. These screens offer the exact same interface as the higher variants. Apart from these, the AX variant also gets black fabric seat upholstery, piano finish on centre console, and front center armrest. This variant misses out on the new double D-cut steering wheel; instead, it gets the same steering as the previous model.
Other notable highlights include rear passenger AC vents, dedicated blowers for third row, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, multiple drive modes, push-start button, steering-mounted controls, Built-in Alexa, ChatGPT integration, and a six-speaker audio system. As for the safety features, it gets six airbags, ESC, traction control system, hill hold assist, hill descent control, and reverse parking sensors.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO AX base variant is being offered with two engine options. These include a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine, which makes 203 PS and 380 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other engine option is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, which makes 185 PS and 420 Nm of torque. Both engines come offered with a single 6-speed manual gearbox.
