Maruti launched its first-ever electric vehicle in the market this year. The launch of the eVitara was delayed multiple times due to various reasons. The eVitara has now finally started reaching dealerships, and it looks like Maruti is gradually picking up pace with deliveries as well.
Recently, we came across a social media post showing a dealer delivering 100+ eVitara electric SUVs to customers. The images were shared by Vahan Warta on their X (formerly Twitter) profile. In one post, we see an aerial view of several Maruti eVitara SUVs parked in an open lot. In another, we see the SUVs being flagged off as customers drive them away.
The post does not clarify whether all the cars were delivered by a single dealer or if multiple Nexa dealerships in Telangana organised the event to celebrate the delivery of over 100 electric SUVs.
Maruti is yet to reveal the exact number of EVs sold so far. The company had earlier mentioned that it is facing production challenges due to a shared assembly line with other models. However, Maruti is gradually addressing these issues while continuing to sell the eVitara in India and export it to other markets.
Maruti’s first electric SUV, the eVitara, is an all-new model based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT-e platform. It is a skateboard platform specifically designed for electric vehicles.
In terms of exterior design, the SUV features LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a gloss-black front grille, and clear-lens tail lamps connected by a central light strip.

The cabin design is quite different from other Nexa models and Maruti Suzuki cars. It gets square-shaped AC vents with silver accents, a twin-deck floating centre console with storage underneath, a rotary gear selector, an electric sunroof, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a fully digital instrument cluster.
The eVitara also comes with multiple drive modes (Sport, Eco, and Normal), ventilated front seats with 10-way electric adjustment for the driver, seven airbags, and disc brakes on all four wheels.
Maruti Suzuki is offering the eVitara with two battery pack options. The lower variant comes with a 49 kWh battery pack that generates 144 bhp and 189 Nm of torque, paired with a single-motor setup. The higher variants get a 61 kWh battery pack, also with a single motor, producing 174 bhp while torque remains the same.
Internationally, Maruti offers the eVitara with an AWD (dual-motor) setup, but this option is not available in India.
The Maruti eVitara is available with both BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) and standard purchase options. It is offered in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants.
The base Delta variant is the only one to come with the 49 kWh battery pack, while the rest are equipped with the 61 kWh unit.
Under the BaaS scheme, prices start at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
Without the BaaS option, prices start at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 20.01 lakh (ex-showroom).
