Maruti Suzuki has been dominating the Indian automotive market for decades now. The carmaker is expected to launch a handful of interesting products this year. These include facelifts and all-new products. Here’s a closer look at the lineup.

The Brezza belongs to a highly competitive segment and continues to sell well even today. The second-generation Brezza that originally launched in 2022, is now awaiting a facelift. The updated model has already been spotted on tests, and is expected around mid-2026. It is expected to come with subtle design improvements, more features and even a few notable mechanical changes.
On the design front, the facelifted Brezza is likely to retain the familiar boxy shape, silhouette and stance. Small updates like slightly tweaked lighting and slightly revised bumpers will make it look fresher. The SUV is also expected to get a new set of alloy wheels.

Inside, the dashboard is expected to get minor design changes. The feature list will be revised on the facelift. It will see the addition of a larger infotainment system- likely a 10.1-inch unit. Additionally, features like ventilated seats are also likely to be added. Interior trims and upholstery will also be improved.

On the mechanical front, Maruti Suzuki is expected to add a new 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, mated to a six-speed manual transmission to the model. The new model will continue with the 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 100hp and 137 Nm, offered with both manual and automatic transmissions. The CNG powertrain will be retained, but the new model will likely come with an underbody CNG tank.

The hot-selling Fronx is also awaiting a facelift. Expected to arrive sometime in 2026, the update will feature subtle design upgrades. Inside, it will likely have more features than the outgoing model. We may even see the addition of an ADAS suite.
The powertrain is expected to witness major changes on the new model. Maruti Suzuki is reportedly developing a new series hybrid technology for use on models including the Fronx. In this setup, the engine does not directly drive the wheels, but acts as a generator. It powers the electric motor that drives the wheels. Such a setup is known for delivering very high fuel efficiency.

Maruti Suzuki had previously showcased a Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) concept based on the Fronx. It was capable of running on E85 petrol (85% Ethanol blended petrol). The production version of this is expected to launch sometime this year.
The FFV will use a flex-fuel-capable 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The second all-electric product from Maruti Suzuki will be an e-MPV. Currently codenamed YMC, this will be based on the same skateboard platform as the eVitara- Heartect-e. This enables better packaging of batteries without compromising on cabin space. It will have a flat floor for improved occupant comfort.
Battery choices are expected to be similar to the eVitara- 49kWh and 61.1 kWh, with comparable range figures as those of the electric SUV. Like the electric SUV, the production-spec YMC will also have a tech-heavy cabin. The feature list is expected to be similar to that of the eVitara.

Overall, the carmaker seems to be trying to cover every major segment in the market. The Brezza facelift will pump more appeal into the outgoing model. The Fronx Flex fuel and hybrid versions will target people looking for greener, cost-effective products. The electric MPV will cater to a different set of EV buyers. Overall, the strategy seems balanced. For buyers, it means more choice. 2026 is indeed turning out to be interesting.
