
MG Motor India, which is owned by JSW Group, is planning to enter the premium luxury electric SUV segment in India. For this, it is planning to launch the IM6 electric SUV in the country. Recently, a video showing the upcoming MG IM6 in detail has been shared online. The presenter gives a detailed walkaround of the IM6 from the outside as well as the inside. The video walkaround and review of the IM6 electric SUV has been shared on YouTube by Cars Guide on their channel. In this video, the presenter highlights that the IM6 is the premium electric SUV offering which will rival the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX, along with the BYD Sealion 7 and others. He highlights that this SUV looks very premium with its L-shaped projector LED headlights, sculpted bonnet, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a connected LED taillight.

Apart from these, the host also mentions that the IM6’s flagship "Performance" variant is extremely powerful. He highlights that it features a dual electric motor setup which is capable of delivering an impressive power of 751 bhp and 802 Nm of torque and can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds, which is comparable to a lot of modern-day supercars.
He also shows the interior of this electric SUV and mentions that it comes equipped with a massive 26.3-inch screen spanning the dashboard, a 20-speaker premium audio system, a digital instrument gauge cluster, a panoramic glass roof, LIDAR sensors, ADAS Level 2+, a very fast personal voice assistant, and many others. Overall, he mentions that the IM6 is a very high-quality product from MG.

As mentioned above, the IM6, when launched in India, will rival the Tesla Model Y and the BYD Sealion 7. In terms of the design, the MG IM6, although it looks very sleek and beautiful, it can be that there has been some design inspiration which has been taken from the previous generation Model Y. Meanwhile, the design of the current Model Y is much sharper and more futuristic.

Speaking of the design, the BYD Sealion 7 is the most proportionate SUV of these three models. It boasts a very bold and muscular design and looks like a very well-designed premium electric SUV.

All three SUVs have a ton of features to offer. However, the IM6 wins because it is the most heavily feature-loaded SUV.

It comes equipped with LIDAR sensors, Nvidia Orin X AI chip, Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and many other features.

Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y gets a simple, minimalistic cabin with a large 15.3-inch touchscreen, full Tesla self-driving option, and others.

Lastly, the BYD Sealion 7 has a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker audio system, ADAS, and other creature comfort features on offer.

Coming to the powertrain side of things, the IM6 is the most powerful of them all and comes powered by a dual-motor setup which is capable of making 751 bhp and 802 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y has a maximum of 340 bhp on offer.

The BYD Sealion 7 sits in the middle as its top-spec variant has 530 bhp to offer. As for 0–100 kmph speeds, the IM6 can do this sprint quickest at 3.4 seconds, the Sealion 7 in 4.5 seconds, and the Tesla Model Y in 5.6 seconds.

Once launched, the IM6 is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 60 lakh in India and will be sold via the MG Select dealerships. Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y is priced at Rs 59.89 to Rs 67.89 lakh, and the BYD Sealion 7 is priced at Rs 48.90 to Rs 54.90 lakh. The MG IM6 electric SUV is expected to make its debut by October of this year.
