
Even though a lot of car buyers are shying away from diesel cars, the demand for them is still high enough for automakers to keep manufacturing them. Now, if you are also a diesel SUV lover who is planning to buy a new one in the coming period, then you have come to the right list. Here are the details of all the new diesel SUVs that are coming to the market.

Mahindra is currently gearing up for the launch of the new mid-life facelift of its popular ladder-frame SUV, the Scorpio-N. The new SUV will be getting an updated exterior and interior design with new features, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and many others. As for the diesel engine, it will continue to get the same 2.2-litre mHawk motor making 175 PS and 370 Nm (manual) and 400 Nm of torque (automatic). The launch will take place in the next few months.

Along with the Scorpio-N, the Scorpio Classic is also expected to get a facelift in the coming months. Most likely, it will be getting a slightly redesigned exterior and interior design. As for the engine, it will continue to come powered by the Gen 2 mHawk 2.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor capable of making 132 PS and 300 Nm of torque. This engine will only be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Toyota is planning to bring its latest-generation Hilux to India by the festive season of this year or by early 2027. This time around, the new-generation Toyota Hilux will come powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine which will also be offered with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This lifestyle pickup truck will make 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque. The new-generation Hilux will look a lot more modern and come equipped with a ton of features missing in the current model.

Later this year, Toyota will be launching the new-generation Fortuner in India. This time around, the SUV will boast a much bolder and more imposing front-end design. It will get sleek C-shaped LED headlights and a new grille and macho-looking front bumper. The side profile will remain the same with new alloy wheels, and the rear will also be slightly changed. Powering this SUV will be the same 2.8-litre mild-hybrid diesel engine making 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque.

Hyundai has already commenced the development of the next-generation Creta. This time around, the Creta will boast a more aggressive and imposing appearance on the outside. It will also grow in dimensions and will come loaded with a ton of features. As for the diesel engine, it will continue to offer the 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine as in the current model, which makes 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Based on the new K3 platform, the new Creta will be making its debut in 2027.

The mid-size SUV offering from Mahindra Automotive, which will take on the Tata Sierra, new-generation Hyundai Creta, and many others, is the Vision S SUV, which has been spotted testing on a number of occasions in the last few months.
This SUV will boast a Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender-inspired design and will come powered by the time-tested 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, which will be capable of making 115 PS and 300 Nm of torque. This SUV is expected to make its debut by the end of 2026 or by early 2027.

Another Mahindra in this list is the Scorpio-N Pik Up, which has also been spotted testing on public roads in India. This SUV will boast a design similar to that of the Scorpio-N on the outside but will get a large truck bed in the rear for utilities. This lifestyle pickup, which will become a more affordable alternative to the Toyota Hilux, will come equipped with the same 2.2-litre mHawk motor making 175 PS and 370 Nm (manual) and 400 Nm of torque (automatic) as the standard Scorpio-N.

The Czech carmaker Skoda is also planning to introduce its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, with the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. This motor is capable of producing 190 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. It could also get an AWD system as well. As per the reports, Skoda is planning to bring a limited number of units, around 100–200 in the beginning, via the CBU route. And if there is demand, it will bring new batches.

The last SUV on this list is the D+ segment full-size ladder-frame SUV, the MG Majestor. This SUV will be launched in April and will come equipped with a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine, which will come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This motor will be capable of producing 215 PS and 478 Nm of torque.
