Mahindra Automotive and Tata Motors both have played an instrumental role in advancing the electric mobility sector in India. Now, in order to take things up a notch, both companies have lined up a number of new electric SUVs for launch in the coming two years. Now, if you are someone who is interested in knowing which new electric SUVs will be coming to India from these two major automakers, then you have come to the right spot.

Mahindra currently offers its compact electric SUV BE 6 with two battery pack options of 59 kWh (557 km) and 79 kWh (682 km). Now, to bridge the gap between these models, the company is gearing up to launch the BE 6 with the 70 kWh battery pack from the XEV 9S.
This new battery pack–equipped variant will sit around the Pack Two Above trims. The new 70 kWh BE 6 is expected to offer a range of around 600 km and get a 241 bhp and 380 Nm of torque–producing electric motor. It is expected to get launched around the second half of this year.

In addition to the BE 6, the XEV 9E, which is the current flagship coupe electric SUV from the brand, will also soon be getting the 70 kWh battery pack option. The powertrain and range specs will remain the same as the XEV 9S. As for the launch date, it will be launched alongside the BE 6 70 kWh.

The fourth electric SUV based on the INGLO electric architecture and the second EV SUV in the Born Electric (BE) lineup, the BE 07, has officially been confirmed for launch in 2027. It will sit above the compact electric SUV BE 6 in the Mahindra electric SUV lineup. This SUV will boast a much bigger size than the BE 6 but will remain a 5-seater.
Recently, a test mule of this SUV was spotted testing, which showcased that the original sharp and edgy design of the concept has been toned down. The Mahindra BE 07 is expected to be launched in the price range of Rs 25–30 lakh and come offered with the 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh battery pack options.

The third and the flagship model in the Mahindra Born Electric lineup will be the coupe grand tourer model, the BE 09. Most likely, it will also be making its official debut in 2027 and offer the same battery pack and electric motor options. Pricing of the BE 09 is expected to be in the range of Rs 40–50 lakh, placing it in the luxury segment.

To rival the Mahindra BE 09 and enter the luxury car segment, Tata Motors is also working on the development of the Avinya EV. This electric grand touring SUV will be based on the 800V Electrified Modular Architecture, which will serve as the base for the Range Rover electric SUV lineup, including Velar EV, Evoque EV, and Range Rover Sport EV, along with others.
The Tata Avinya EV will be launched in the price range of Rs 40–50 lakh and will boast a very futuristic and premium design. As for the launch timeline, the final production version will most likely be revealed by the end of this year or by early 2027.

As for the electric SUV launch from Tata Motors slated for this year, the company will be taking off the covers from the Sierra.ev. The upcoming Sierra.ev will be based on the Acti.EV+ platform and will be offered with 55 kWh and 65 kWh battery pack options. It has been reported that it will be offered with all-wheel drive from launch. Presently, the power and torque figures of this EV SUV have not been revealed.
