Over the last few years, Hyundai has been losing its market share to Tata Motors and Mahindra Automotive. However, the company is now gearing up for the launch of not one but multiple new models in India. Of these, one of the most highly anticipated models is the Bayon mid-size SUV. Recently, a few test mules of this SUV have been spotted testing, and now a few renders of this upcoming SUV have been shared online. These renders are giving us a glimpse of what the new Bayon could look like when it makes its official debut.

The latest renderings of the next-generation Hyundai Bayon have been shared by Carscoops based on the spy images of the SUV. From these renderings, we can note that Hyundai will be giving the Bayon a crossover SUV styling. The new model looks very different from the current-generation Bayon, which is currently on sale internationally.
At the front, the upcoming Bayon will come equipped with a full-width LED light bar with L-shaped DRLs and vertically stacked LED headlamps. The overall front fascia looks a lot wider and more premium than the current model. The renderings also show that, this time around, there is a strong emphasis on horizontal design elements, which will increase its road presence.

Moving to the side profile, the new Bayon will get a flatter roofline, flush-type door handles, and blacked-out A-pillars. It will also feature pronounced wheel arches with black cladding and a more muscular overall stance. It has been reported that the upcoming Bayon could measure around 4.2 meters in length.
This means it will slot in between the Creta mid-size and the Venue sub-compact SUVs. As for the rear-end design, the SUV will boast a connected LED light strip along with vertical LED taillights. The tailgate will also be more upright, and it will help in increasing the boot space.

Presently, there are no spy shots of the interior of the upcoming Bayon. However, it has been reported that it could get the same curved panoramic display, which houses the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and has already been seen in the Venue and the new Verna.
The SUV is also expected to come equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, and over-the-air software updates. Hyundai could also offer the Bayon with its latest Pleos Connect software architecture.
Other notable features are expected to include wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, digital key functionality, and physical buttons for key vehicle functions. Hyundai is also likely to offer a heads-up display and a Level-2 ADAS suite with advanced safety technologies.

The next-generation Bayon will continue to be based on Hyundai's K-platform, which will be getting some major updates. The improved platform is expected to offer better structural rigidity and improved crash safety. Now, coming to the powertrain options, it has been reported that the one coming to India could get a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and come paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
Hyundai could also offer the Bayon with a smaller 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The turbo-petrol version of the new engine will be offered with manual and DCT transmissions. The company is also working on a full-hybrid version of the Bayon. This hybrid powertrain is expected to produce around 140 bhp and could be offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
