Hyundai is working on the next-generation Creta. The SUV is expected to feature major changes in design, packaging and will even sit on an all-new platform. Based on spy sightings and hints from sources, Carscoops has now come up with new design renders of the next-generation Creta.

The new generation will move away from the current Creta, in terms of design. It will look more interesting and upmarket. There will be a clear influence of the ‘Crater’ concept which Hyundai showcased at the LA Auto Show in 2025.
The Crater was designed by Hyundai’s California design studio. Back then, the company had mentioned that it previews the next phase of SUV future. It was based on the ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy. This seems to have made it to the next-generation Creta as well.
The overall design will become cleaner and more focussed. The SUV will have a wide and upright stance. As can be seen in these images, it will feature a split arrangement for the lights. The LED DRLs will sit above the LED headlamps. The bonnet appears to be flatter and upright. The SUV will also feature chunky claddings and wheel arches.

Even from the sides, the new Creta will look more balanced and proportionate. Since it will be based on the third-generation K3 platform, the next-generation Creta will be noticeably larger. It will likely ride on larger wheels and have a stronger shoulder line than the outgoing model.
The new Creta will also have a fresh rear styling. It will have connected LED tail lamps. This would highlight the vehicle’s width. The rear bumper will also be new and will gel well with the rest of the design. The new-generation Creta has also been spied testing in India. Those images also point to a similar design direction as the one mentioned above.

The new Creta will come with a new cabin design and more features. It will have a redesigned dashboard that looks cleaner and more upmarket. Many features of the outgoing Creta will be carried forward. More importantly, the next-generation Creta will come with Hyundai’s new-age Pleos Connect infotainment system. As confirmed by previous spy sightings, this will replace the dual 10.25-inch screens of the outgoing model.
It was in early April that Hyundai first revealed the Pleos Connect. On the Creta, it will feature a large central touchscreen and a slim driver’s display. While the exact size remains unclear, visuals show the touchscreen to be fairly large.
Intuitiveness and simplicity will remain the core philosophies of the system. The screen will offer a fresh User Interface (UI) and will come with physical controls for all key functions. Additionally, it will support three-finger gestures.
The central display will be divided into three main areas- driving information section, app screen and a bottom bar. The slim display behind the steering wheel will show essential information like speed, media and turn-by-turn directions.
Features like wireless charger, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control and more will make it to the new model as well. Overall, the material quality and trims will improve. Owing to larger dimensions, space and comfort at the rear will see significant improvements.

The new Creta will be based on the K3 platform. This third-generation platform also forms the base of the second-generation Kia Seltos. The new platform will also offer better safety and improved structural rigidity. Overall safety levels will also improve. The Seltos has already scored a five-star Bharat NCAP rating.
The petrol and diesel engines of the current model- 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbocharged petrol and a 1.5L diesel- will be carried forward. Outputs are likely to remain largely unchanged. In addition to these, the carmaker is also expected to introduce a strong hybrid petrol powertrain. This 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain is expected to deliver good fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
