Hyundai is testing the next-generation Creta aggressively in India. Almost every other day, we come across a video or an image of the upcoming SUV. The Hyundai Creta is an SUV that has set a benchmark in the segment. It is one of the most sought-after SUVs in the segment. We have now come across a new image where the upcoming Hyundai Creta is seen parked in a parking lot while testing.

The Hyundai Creta test mule’s image has been shared by powerdrift on their social media page. In this image, we see a heavily camouflaged SUV parked in an open space. Till now, we had only seen videos of the Creta, and in all of them, the SUV’s front was not clearly visible.
However, in this image, that is not the case. We can see the front grille and the split headlamps on the SUV. It looks like the front grille is finished in gloss black or dark chrome. The headlamp design looks like an extension of the grille itself. There is a dual-function LED DRL, and it looks chunkier from the front.

The SUV has grown in size and looks wider from this angle. We also expect to see a connecting LED bar at the front along with a faux skid plate, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and more. The side profile of the SUV is also visible in the picture here, and we see Kia-like dual-tone alloy wheels here too. The door handles look conventional, and the ORVMs are also similar to what we saw on the Seltos.
From the video, we know that the Hyundai Creta will be getting a completely new rear design with Hyundai EV-like clear-lens or pixel-type LED lights. On the inside, we expect to see more changes. The major attraction here would be the Pleos screen. There would be a large floating touchscreen infotainment system and a slim driver display. The upcoming SUV will come with a decent number of features like electric seats with memory and welcome functions, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, leatherette upholstery, automatic headlamps, wipers, and more.

The SUV will come with a long list of safety features and would be based on the K3 platform. This means the new Creta is going to be ready to score a 5-star rating at Bharat NCAP. Coming to the engine and transmission options, the next-generation Creta will be offered with 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine options.
Hyundai is also working on a new strong-hybrid petrol engine that is based on the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is a technology specially designed for the Indian market. It will offer a balance between performance and efficiency.
The strong-hybrid petrol engine on the upcoming Creta will be offered with an automatic transmission, and the same hybrid technology will also be seen on the Kia Seltos, the upcoming Kia Sorento, and many other Hyundai models. The official launch of the next-generation Creta is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2027.
