Nissan India is now inching closer to the launch of its mid-size SUV, the Tekton, in India. It recently confirmed that the new Tekton will be launched in the country on July 9. Well, now, once again, the company has reconfirmed this official launch date with a new teaser of the Tekton with its sibling, the Nissan Patrol, which is the flagship SUV in the company's lineup.
This new teaser of the soon-to-be-launched Tekton has been shared on Instagram by Nissan India. In this short clip, we can note that the Tekton is in the front and, in the rear, its sibling, the latest-generation Patrol, has been parked. We can note that the upcoming Tekton will boast a connected LED DRL with inverted L-shaped LEDs and an illuminated Nissan logo in the middle.

From the teaser, we can note that Nissan has shown the Tekton along with the Patrol as it takes its design inspiration from the flagship SUV. The upcoming Tekton will boast a very boxy and rugged stance and styling, which will be classy and sophisticated as well. It will feature a large and imposing grille, a muscular front end, and a high bonnet line.
On the sides, we will be seeing squared-off wheel arches, chunky side claddings, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and strong shoulder lines as well. Additionally, the SUV, at the rear, will boast a set of connected LED taillights, an integrated roof spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, a rear wiper, washer and defogger setup, along with a muscular rear bumper and a faux silver skid plate.

Nissan has not fully revealed the interior of the Tekton mid-size SUV. However, most likely, it will be offered with a similar dashboard layout as the Renault Duster, but with more premium-quality materials and finish. Its list of features is expected to include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Other notable highlights will include rear AC vents, front ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad, 48-color ambient lighting, a six-speaker Arkamys premium audio system, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and many other safety features, which will be standard across the range.
Coming to the powertrain options, Nissan will be offering the Tekton with three options. The first will be the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which will make 100 bhp and 166 Nm of torque. This engine will come paired only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then there will be the more performance-oriented 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. This motor will produce 162 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.

As for the transmission options, this engine will offer a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Lastly, like the Duster, it too will be offered with the 1.8-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. This setup will combine a petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. In total, this powertrain will offer a combined power output of 162 bhp along with 172 Nm of torque.
In terms of pricing, the Nissan Tekton is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10.5 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. Once launched, it will take on rivals including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, and many others in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
