The electric vehicle segment in the Indian market has seen tremendous growth in the last five years. We have seen several new and interesting products get launched in the market during these years, and we have also come across several Indian brands that have come up with innovative products in this space. One such brand in the EV segment is Pravaig. They are a Bengaluru-based automotive start-up, and they launched their electric SUV, the Pravaig Defy, back in 2022. It looks like the brand is now working on the next version of the Defy SUV. The test mule of what looks like the Pravaig Defy was recently spotted testing in Bengaluru.
The video has been shared by motorcraftz on their Instagram page. In the video, we see a boxy-looking SUV with heavy camouflage waiting at a traffic signal. It looks like a different version of the Defy SUV that the brand launched back in 2022.
The test mule in the video looks sharp, and it is clear that the SUV is going to be a premium or luxury offering. We see double-barrel LED projector headlamps with integrated dual-function LED DRLs.
The front grille is completely closed, but we see an open lower air dam in the video. The other major attraction of the test mule is the wheels. It is actually an interesting-looking design that looks stylish and also helps reduce drag. There are pull-type door handles, and the overall profile of the SUV looks sporty.
The estate-like elongated design of the SUV is retained, and it looks like the brand might also work on the rear profile. The version unveiled back in 2022 didn’t have a very good-looking rear design.

The earlier version of the Pravaig Defy SUV came with an interior made from sustainable fabrics (recycled materials like PET), while the upholstery was made of vegan leather. It remains to be seen whether the brand will continue with the same theme or offer something different.
The SUV is expected to retain features like adjustable driver seats, seat ventilation, automatic climate control, a 15.6-inch touchscreen display, a 10-inch driver display, and so on. The SUV will also come with a 360-degree camera setup and ADAS features, along with six airbags and other safety features.
The electric SUV from Pravaig is expected to come with a 90.9 kWh battery pack. The SUV is expected to offer a driving range of around 500 km in real-world conditions. The SUV supports fast-charging speeds of up to 150 kW and comes with a dual-motor setup. This boxy electric SUV generates 402 Bhp and 620 Nm of peak torque. The older version could do 0–100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, and we expect the updated one to do the same or become a bit faster. The top speed of the SUV is limited to 210 kmph.
Pravaig launched the Defy back in 2022 at Rs 39.5 lakh. This was a time when people were still sceptical about EVs. Now, EVs have been widely adopted by customers around the world, and if Pravaig can actually work on the issues from the past and come up with a decent product at an interesting price tag, they might have a winner on their hands.
