Renault finally announced the prices for their much-awaited mid-size SUV, the Duster, in the Indian market. Deliveries of the Duster will commence from April, and after the Duster, Renault will shift its focus to its next launch, which will be a seven-seater SUV. The SUV is expected to be based on the Renault Boreal, which is already on sale in many markets. This will be a 7-seater SUV and is expected to be launched in our market soon. Here we have a video that gives us a detailed look at the upcoming Renault Boreal.
The video has been shared by AutoPov Brazil on their YouTube channel. The vlogger doesn’t talk about the car but gives a tour of it instead. He starts with the exterior of the Boreal. The front end of the Boreal is completely different, although it is based on the same CMF-B platform as the Duster.
The SUV comes with sleek LED headlamps and triangular LED DRL elements on the grille. The sleek headlamps are designed in such a way that they look like a part of the gloss black nose or grille. The front bumper and grille are designed in such a way that the SUV looks muscular and offers ample road presence.

The Renault logo is at the center, and we also see the lower air dam in the video. The fog lamps are positioned at the lower part of the bumper, and we also see a faux skid plate. Coming to the side profile, we notice the dual-tone theme of the SUV. The Boreal gets a gloss black upper half and a blue-colored lower half.
The boxy design is visible here, and we also see thick black cladding around the squared wheel arches. The Boreal comes with 19-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, and the design is different from what is seen on the Duster. The rear door handle is placed on the pillar, similar to the Duster.
We also see a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna on this SUV. This SUV also gets ADAS and 360-degree cameras, which are visible in the video. At the rear, the Boreal gets sleek-looking LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators. The tailgate has a muscular design, and so does the bumper. We also see reflector lamps on the lower part of the bumper. The Boreal badge is seen on the tailgate right below the Renault logo.
The Renault Boreal is based on the Duster platform, but it is longer and wider than the Duster. It also offers a longer wheelbase, which translates into more space in the cabin. The Boreal seen in the video is actually a five-seater. However, when this SUV comes to India, it will be a 7-seater. The SUV seen here offers around 500 litres of boot space, and the tailgate is electric.
Moving inside, the cabin of the Boreal is similar to the Duster. Instead of black, we see a navy blue and black color theme in the cabin. There are soft-touch materials on the door pads, while the rest of the areas, including the dashboard, get hard and textured plastic panels.
The driver-centric touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, physical switches to control functions and features, panoramic sunroof, electric driver seats, leatherette upholstery, premium speaker system, automatic transmission lever, drive mode selector, fluted panel on the center console with cup holders and storage space underneath, driver armrest, rear AC vents, USB ports, and split rear seats are all seen here.
The SUV seen here is powered by a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that generates 163 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque. We see the vlogger driving the SUV through winding mountain roads, but we have no idea how it performs as the vlogger doesn’t explain anything in the video.
