Renault recently announced its plans to enter the highly competitive sub-4 metre SUV segment. The concept of the upcoming SUV is called Bridger, and Renault released a teaser image of the same online as well. The official unveiling of the Bridger concept is scheduled to happen on 10th March 2026. Before the official unveiling of the concept, fresh details have surfaced online.

The Renault Bridger concept is currently known by an internal name, RB3-K2 B-SUV. As per Autocar Professional, the upcoming SUV from Renault will probably be getting the most diversified powertrains in this segment.
As per the details, Renault is actually considering NA petrol, turbo petrol, hybrid, CNG and EV powertrain options for the upcoming sub-4 metre SUV. As per the information that is currently available, Renault might be offering a 1.2 litre petrol engine in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms.
It would also get a hybrid variant (strong hybrid) and an electric version with two battery pack options, possibly a 35 kWh and 55 kWh unit. With this, Renault aims to actually offer a variety of options to customers who are looking for a vehicle in the Rs 10–20 lakh segment.

The report also mentioned that Renault is aiming to make a strong comeback in the Indian market with this sub-4 metre SUV. Renault plans to sell around 80,000–90,000 units of the sub-4 metre SUV annually.
While Renault has only released a teaser image of the Bridger concept showing the rear fender and silhouette of the upcoming concept, we have several videos and images that show how the SUV might look.
Renault was also calling the Bridger concept a mini Duster because the brand will be placing the SUV between the Kiger and the Duster, which is scheduled to launch this month. It is possible that Renault is calling it a mini Duster because they want to design the SUV like a smaller version of the Duster on the outside.

The SUV concept that was teased recently gets a spare wheel on the tailgate, which means Renault is aiming for a rugged SUV-like look for this upcoming model. The upcoming SUV is likely to use Renault's R-GMP architecture, which is actually a platform based on the CMF-B platform. The R-GMP takes much of its hardware from the CMF-B platform. However, Renault has removed its entire electrical and electronics (E&E) architecture and replaced it with a new one.
The electrical and electronics in the new platform are actually much more advanced and capable of hosting many of the latest technologies. This modular R-GMP architecture will also mean a high level of localisation, and this would also help the brand price the product aggressively. The Renault Bridger project is currently being developed and designed by the Renault India team, and the SUV concept is expected to get a rugged, boxy SUV-like look just like the Duster.

With this new SUV, Renault is not just aiming for the Indian market, but they might also export this sub-4 metre SUV, along with other products manufactured in India, to other markets. The Mini Duster or the Bridger concept’s production version is expected to be launched in the Indian market by Diwali 2027.
