Renault is set to unveil the much-anticipated Bridger concept today. Its production version will be a sub-four-metre SUV, expected to arrive around 2027. This product follows the launch of the new Duster and is referred to by many as the ‘mini Duster’. Renault had previously released a set of teaser images of the concept. Now, the patent images of the concept have also surfaced online, with hours still left for the official reveal. Based on these, we have imagined the concept once again. This time, the illustration stays as close as possible to the actual concept.

These images show the boxy silhouette and upright stance of the Bridger concept. The SUV seems to have short overhangs both at the front and at the rear.
The Bridger-based SUV will be underpinned by the RGMP platform. It can support front overhangs from 780 mm to 860 mm, and rear ones of up to 1020 mm. In the case of the Bridger-based SUV, overhangs are short as the vehicle itself belongs to the sub-four-metre segment. The concept seems to have good ground clearance. The production form may come with integrated side steps for easier access.

The front fascia of the Bridger concept looks good. The nose has an upright design. The front bumper has a large air dam and a dark-themed skid plate. ‘Renault’ is spelled out on the grille section. The bonnet has a slight forward dip near the nose, just like what we see on the Duster. The concept also has good-looking LED DRLs and stylish LED headlamps. The DRL design may invoke memories of the Boreal sold abroad. The A-pillar has a steep rake, adding to the car’s overall character.

The side view is interesting too. There is a bold belt-line that rises slightly towards the B-pillar and then sharply towards the C-pillar. The roof rails are well-integrated into the overall design and may even be functional on the production form. Most vehicles in the B segment have them as mere cosmetic enhancements.
Another detail you’ll notice in the side view is the design of the wheel arches. They are squared-off and look bold. The rear door handles are integrated into the window area. This keeps the design of the doors clean.
The vehicle in this illustration gets a dual-tone paint scheme- likely to be the same on the production form as well. Colours may, however, vary.

The biggest highlight at the rear is the tailgate-mounted spare wheel. It adds a lot of character to the Bridger concept. It remains to be seen if this would be kept unchanged on the production form. The LED tail lamps get a unique design. Renault design genes are evident in these.
The tailgate will have a ‘BRIDGER’ badge, which is not shown in this render. The C-pillar is upright and goes well with the rest of the design. The rear bumper houses the registration plate, and even has a skid plate. We can also see a shark-fin antenna and an integrated spoiler in these renders.

The mini-Duster will be Renault’s second sub-four-metre SUV offering. The project has been led largely by Renault’s India team and is aimed at emerging markets. The production form is internally codenamed RB3-K2. It will offer multiple powertrain options- a new 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, turbocharged petrol, hybrid and full electric. Renault may also consider CNG if there is enough demand. The RGMP platform supports multiple powertrain and fuel options.
When launched, this B-segment SUV will be placed between the Kiger and Duster in the company’s portfolio and will play a key role in shaping Renault’s future success here.
