Toyota is one of the most popular brands in the Indian market and is known for its reliability. Its current lineup consists of popular models like the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, and Fortuner. With rising competition, Toyota is also planning to expand its lineup with new and updated versions of existing models. Here we have a list of seven such Toyota SUVs that are coming to the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki is working on a series-hybrid version of the Fronx. Once that model arrives, Toyota is also expected to introduce its version of the Taisor with the same technology.

Toyota aims to introduce the extremely efficient series-hybrid version of the Taisor by late 2026 or early 2027. It is expected to use a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that functions solely as a generator to charge the battery pack, while the electric motor powers the wheels. This setup is rumoured to deliver an impressive fuel efficiency of up to 35 km/l.
The Hyryder will also receive a facelift around the festive season this year. As part of the update, Toyota is expected to offer a larger 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an Infinity audio system enhanced by Dolby Atmos, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, Level 2 ADAS, and more.

It will continue with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid powertrains, along with an AWD option for the mild-hybrid automatic variant.
Toyota is planning to expand its mid-size SUV presence with a 7-seater version of the Hyryder. The SUV has been spotted testing and is expected to launch in the second half of 2026.

The SUV is expected to be slightly longer than the Hyryder and might offer the same set of features as the 5-seater version. The Hyryder 7-seater will use the same 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid engines, along with an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option.
The next-generation Fortuner is one of Toyota's most highly anticipated launches. It is expected to debut around the festive season this year or in early 2027. Reports suggest that the Fortuner will use an updated IMV ladder-frame platform.

The SUV is expected to get a sharper front fascia featuring redesigned LED headlamps, a fresh grille, and a revised bumper, while the cabin will receive a more premium layout loaded with additional features. The vehicle will continue to be offered with 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel mild-hybrid engine options.
The Hilux is a popular choice among off-road enthusiasts across the globe. The next-generation Toyota Hilux lifestyle pickup truck is expected to be launched by late 2026.

It will share the updated IMV platform with the new Fortuner and continue to use the robust 2.8-litre diesel engine. Toyota is also working on an all-electric version, which is expected to come with a 52.9 kWh battery pack, a dual-motor setup generating 196 bhp, and a claimed range of 315 km.

Toyota has also announced plans to bring the Corolla Cross 7-seater SUV to India by 2028 or 2029. The premium SUV will be built on the TNGA-C monocoque platform that underpins the Innova Hycross.
The SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid engine. It will be positioned between the Hyryder and Fortuner and will rival models such as the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV 7XO.
The Land Cruiser FJ was recently unveiled and is already available in a couple of East Asian markets. The SUV is scheduled to arrive in India by early 2028.

The SUV will utilise the IMV ladder-frame platform and will feature a retro, boxy design complemented by C-shaped LED DRLs and a classic tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The SUV is available with a 2.7-litre petrol engine only. This engine generates 164 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque.
