Skoda unveiled the Kushaq facelift earlier this year, and the Czech car manufacturer has also started the production of the Kushaq. The SUV is expected to get officially launched in the coming months. Along with the Kushaq, Skoda is also working on a facelift for its sedan, the Slavia. The Slavia facelift was recently spotted testing on our roads before its official launch.
The video has been shared by Sunderdeep–Volklub on his X profile. He mentions that the video was shared with him by one of his followers, and the car in the video looks like the Slavia facelift. We see a heavily camouflaged sedan doing high-speed runs on the highway.
The car recording the video catches up with the test mule and even overtakes it. We see the rear and front, and even get a glimpse of the cabin of the upcoming sedan. The Skoda Slavia sedan comes with a redesigned rear with sleeker-looking tail lamps and a revised bumper.
The front of the sedan gets a couple of more changes than the rear. The front grille of the sedan is likely to see a major revision. The butterfly grille of the sedan will come with vertical slats like the Kushaq.
The headlamps on the sedan will also see changes. They will be sleeker than the outgoing model, and the LED DRLs will be integrated into the cluster. The design of the dual-function LED DRLs is likely to be the same as the one seen on the Kushaq.
Like how Skoda revised the Kushaq’s design to make it look like a baby Kodiaq, we feel Skoda is planning to make the Slavia look more like a baby Superb or Octavia. The alloy wheel design on the facelifted Slavia will be different from the current version.
There is one more video that has been circulating online where we see a Skoda Slavia test mule in the mountains. It looks like the team brought the car to the mountains on a flatbed and decided to uncover it there for testing.
They are seen removing the covers, and the changes on this test mule are also similar to what we saw in the highway video. The sedan is then driven on the high-altitude mountain roads.
As mentioned above, we also see a glimpse of the cabin in the test mule. The dashboard is completely covered, and that could actually be a hint that Skoda is working on revising the dashboard design. It may not be something that is drastically different from the current version, but minor tweaks to make it look fresh - even a new colour theme - is expected.
The Skoda twin-spoke steering wheel can also be seen here. Skoda might offer a bigger touchscreen infotainment system or a larger fully digital instrument cluster, or maybe both with the facelift. We expect to see all the premium features that were already offered in the current model and more. It may get a rear-seat massager, and features like alloy wheels, automatic climate control, six airbags, and many more features as standard.
Coming to the engine and transmission, Skoda will offer a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder TSI engine that generates 115 Ps and 178 Nm of torque. This engine will be offered with a manual and a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TSI engine generates 150 Ps and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is likely to be offered with a 7-speed DSG only. The Skoda Slavia facelift launch is expected to happen in the coming months.
