The Tata Nexon Pure+ PS is now on sale at Rs 9.59 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, and its main talking point is India's favourite feature: the sunroof. And not just any sunroof but a panoramic sunroof. The Nexon Pure+ PS trim has now become India's most affordable car with a panoramic sunroof. Tata is calling it an industry first, and the claim is significant because panoramic sunroofs have generally been used as a premium feature in higher variants or more expensive SUVs.

The launch also comes as the Nexon crosses the 1 million cumulative sales milestone on road. Instead of only announcing a sales number, it has added a feature-led variant at a price point that is likely to draw attention in showrooms.
The Pure+ PS is not a completely new model. It is an addition to the existing Nexon Pure+ trim. The major change is the panoramic sunroof, and Tata has made it voice-assisted. That means the user can operate it through a voice command, a feature usually seen in higher-priced variants.

The importance of the Pure+ PS lies in where Tata has placed the feature. A panoramic sunroof is no longer rare in the SUV market, but it is still usually attached to higher trims. Bringing it below Rs 10 lakh gives Tata a strong showroom hook, especially for buyers who want a feature-rich compact SUV but do not want to stretch into the Rs 12 lakh to Rs 14 lakh price band.
This also reflects how the sub-4 metre SUV segment has changed. Earlier, buyers compared these vehicles mostly on engine, mileage, boot space and safety.
Now, features such as larger screens, connected tech, rear cameras, sunroofs, automatic lighting and premium audio have become major decision points. Tata is using the Pure+ PS to bring one aspirational feature into a more accessible price bracket.

The Pure+ PS is available across all three powertrain families that the Nexon offers. The petrol MT is priced at Rs 9.59 lakh. The petrol AMT is priced at Rs 10.14 lakh. The Twin Cylinder iCNG MT is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh. The diesel MT costs Rs 10.54 lakh, while the diesel AMT tops this variant range at Rs 11.19 lakh.
The petrol engine is Tata’s 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron unit, producing 120 PS. The diesel is the 1.5-litre Revotorq unit, producing 115 PS. The CNG version uses the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol base but in a CNG tune. That gives the Pure+ PS a wider spread than many feature-led variants, because buyers can pick the same trim with petrol, CNG or diesel depending on usage.
The CNG option is especially relevant because Tata uses a twin-cylinder setup. Unlike older single-cylinder CNG layouts that eat heavily into boot space, the twin-cylinder arrangement is designed to keep the boot more usable. For buyers looking at running costs, that gives the Nexon CNG a practical edge.
Beyond the panoramic sunroof, the Pure+ PS carries a 26.03 cm Harman infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker sound system, an HD rear-view camera with guidelines and sensors, auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing front and rear wipers, cruise control, LED tail lamps, and electric ORVMs with auto-fold.
This is why the variant is not just about the sunroof. It combines a major visual feature with several everyday-use features. The rear camera, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and wireless smartphone connectivity are all useful in daily driving. The 6-speaker system and larger infotainment screen add to the cabin experience without pushing the entry price beyond Rs 10 lakh for the petrol manual.
The Nexon’s safety record remains one of its biggest strengths. It has a 5-star Global NCAP rating and was among the early cars to score 5 stars under Bharat NCAP as well. The Pure+ PS does not change the underlying safety positioning. Instead, it adds a premium feature on top of an already well-established safety package.
For buyers, the choice will still depend on budget and usage. The petrol manual gives the lowest entry price. The petrol AMT adds convenience for city driving. The CNG brings lower running costs, while the diesel remains useful for high-mileage users. But across all these versions, the Pure+ PS gives the Nexon one more clear talking point in an already crowded compact SUV market.
